I picked up my NSX today - $6800 in parts and labor to replace all pads and rotors, covered under warranty. My dealer's NSX specialist noted that the iron rotors have had problems from the get-go, which may be one reason they were not available for the 2017 model year.
On a slightly related...
Thanks for sharing, Steve. That's amazing - looks like a 16th of an inch of lost pad material.
I brought my car in for service this morning and just spoke to the NSX service specialist at the dealer - the rotors and pads have to be replaced. The required parts are being express shipped from...
My local NSX tech said the pads have high metallic content so even though the pads aren't touching the rotors when the car is parked, the water between the pads and rotors enables metal from the pads to migrate to the rotors and cause corrosion/buildup. Again, it ins't the usually surface rust...
Well, according to the Acura service bulletin on this issue, after driving in rain the brakes need to be "dried":
"To keep this from happening, the brakes should be dried before parking the vehicle. This is especially important if the vehicle is being put into long-term storage. To dry them...
I tried that when I first tried to drive the car yesterday - the revs increased about 200 RPM from idle and then went back down to idle. I'm thinking the ECU detects that the wheels aren't turning under throttle so it back down the throttle. I tried again this morning and 3 wheels broke loose...
That seems to be it. The last time I drove my car, it was in a torrential downpour. And I do have the iron rotors. Any suggestion on how to unstick the pads from the rotors? Perhaps it is best for my dealer to come get the car and fix the problem, esp. if new pads and/or rotors are required...
Upon further examination, it seems that it is the ebrake is seized (on both sides) and the main brakes seem to be ok as I can feel a tiny gap between the main brake pads and the rotors.
My 2018 NSX has seized rear brakes - it seems the main brakes versus the ebrakes - and the car will not move. I drove the car last about 2 weeks ago and went to drive it this evening. The car started and when I put it into reverse and touched the accelerator, the car didn't move and the revs...
Wow - you are one really touchy little person to react so strongly.
It is absolutely true that the NSX has brake-by-wire and steer-by-wire systems. It is true that brake pedal feedback and steering feedback is simulated by controllers and actuators. LandLawMan said his "steering shook badly"...
I will never understand the READY indictor - only car I've owned with this dash light. The owners manual says READY is the Ready Indictor. Clearly your car is not ready to drive but the ready indictor is on.
Also, just before your post, I was reading a news article about the 737 Max and...
All the time - if the car sits for a few days and I open the trunk, you can smell the epoxy 5 feet away. The smell doesn't get strong when the engine is hot - at least as far as I can tell.
I bought my 2018 NSX new from the dealer in December and in the five months I've owned it, the strong epoxy smell in the trunk / engine bay has not subsided. In fact, if I leave something like a backpack in the trunk for a few hours, the epoxy smell permeates the backpack and all of the...
I simply deleted all paired devices - since this NSX sat at the dealership for a few months in 2018, I can imagine that the sales people paired their phones to test things out. So I deleted all paired devices and repaired my iPhone. Problem solved. Many thanks.
Ryan, thanks for checking. I followed MasterNSXTech's instructions and deleted all paired devices. There were many paired devices - probably the sales people at the Acura dealership where the car was for several months before I bought it. I repaired my iPhone X and the problem is gone...
I'm wondering if other NSX 2.0 owners have seen the same problem I have had with Apple CarPlay. When using the car's infotainment touchscreen to play a voice mail (as opposed to using voice command), the voice mail plays about 3 seconds and then the infotainment system locks up. I have to turn...

Building a custom exhaust? Need to adapt an exhaust to a set of headers? I've got the hard-to-find parts that do just that. One set of adapters is from Comptech USA, the other is from SoS...
