1000.9 whp nsx!!!!!

you have very flat torque curve up to 8500rpm, did you rise boost with rpm grow or there is constant boost? just courious how is that possible with just 0.63 a/r. 1000whp for those turbos is a bit outer of effeciency range...

Our goal was better boost response, not top end power. If I had to single out the one main difference with our setup vs. what's out there, it would be the Lamonova ICs. Although we did not measure pre and post IC pressures, others who have report 0.5-1.5 psi drops. This is dependent on size matching and whether the Laminova cores were laid out in series or parallel. I have twin Laminova IC units in a parallel arrangement with 4 high-fin cores laying four across in each unit to maximize frontal area. Pressure drop is probably less than 1 psi. If you are still going with the tube/fin (ie Spearco) cores, try not to line them up in series as this will only double the pressure drop across the combined IC.

Danny

Congrats Danny. That's one hell of a machine. Next time I'm around vegas I'll try to get a look at it.

Steve!

Long time no chat since the election. Getting on with life after some interesting conversation in the off topics forum. Please look me up if you ever make it to Vegas. Dinner and a drive is on me.

Best Regards,

Danny

cant wait for the dyno video so i can post it here in the greek sites!

Me too! Mark (Autowave) has it on an old school camcorder so we have to figure out how to get it into a file. Good luck on your BBSC project. Easy 10s with your driving skills.

Danny

here are the vids of the dyno runs on Danny's car not sure how to post them so they can play on prime if some one could do it for me I would appreciate it

the first on is Danny's car on low boost around 650whphttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR_4FDZ6v8U

this is the run right before we made the 1000.9 it came in 983whp
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoalYApY7Q0

and this is 1000.9 run
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcXrpKZRsB0

bear with me guys, Mark is an old timer and has not quite gone into the digital world so I had to play it on my tv and record it with my digital camera but Dam the man can build a motor that lays down a 1000whp and still stay together
Danny happily also reported that he is still achieving 20+MPG with his 1000hp monster

Wow that was a QUICK run. Wish I was there to witness the dyno run live, but Mark's old school video will do for now. It's great to see a bunch of experienced gear heads giggle like grade school kids:biggrin:all over again (I'm still giggling here as well). Big THANKS to Autowave again. As for mileage, I actually got 22.5 mpg on the way back to Vegas last Sunday- not bad considering I have the OS Giken 4.44 diff.

Danny

Thanks for the kind words. The ol' stock market has kept me busy but in my favor lately. I usually go skiing around march and end the trip with a few days in Vegas. If I do it this year I'll certainly let you know. Make sure you keep the rubber side down on that bad boy, at least til I get a look at it.

I think the race is now on to see who can put the biggest intercooler in the trunk. Whether you have a matching-sized radiator up front for the intercooler is secondary.

Stage 1: You want the whole trunk filled with intercoolers, and glue a 6" high plastic "bathtub" on top of the intercoolers so you can fill it with ice water. Make sure the water touches the intercoolers though, for best heat transfer.

Stage 2: Disconnect the intercooler hoses from the radiator and pump a bathtub (a real bathrub this time) full of ice water through it during the dyno run. Just use the ice water once.

Stage 3: Feed 0C pre-cooled air into the intake from the office fridge. Just a three second blast won't take up that much air.

Stage 1: DF CF wrapped 20 gallon Igloo
Stage 2: DF CF wrapped 120 gallon Igloo w/ wheels
Stage 3: Autowave CF wrapped Frigidaire with plenty of leftover pizza for the "Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor" generator to power the flux capacitor.

Here you go, Mike. To have your videos show in these threads, simply look for the "embed" code that's to the right of the video in YouTube and copy and paste the code here.

Thanks Grame looks great and thanks for all the kind words guys it was definitely fun that night and this car is my first in the thousand range it was exciting.

The only problem is now when a car is making anything less than a 1000whp its just boring gonna have to raise the bar up. Just did a couple twin turbo porsches that were around the 700whp range and just didn't get me going like Danny's car did that night. Gonna start working on maxing my dyno out so I can justify getting the dyno dynamics twin retarder dyno that will hold 2400whp currently my dyno is rated at 1200whp. I keep telling myself just 200hp and I will need a new dyno :biggrin:just craziness:biggrin: Maybe if honda ever comes out with the new nsx we can put twin turbos on that thing then we will be crushing that 1000whp mark. Sorry for the rambling guys, every time I watch the video I get a little nutty:wink:

I suggest you get an engine dyno instead:

About $20k is my guess. Rent it for a few hundred dollars each day and it won't take long to get your investment back.

Any plans to take this car down the 1320 anytime soon?

Maybe in March as we prepare for a few Time Attack events (if it fits Erik my driver's, schedule).
