Solution 2, use the tyre only from a Merc SLK and get your local tyre fitter to bring blood to his eye balls by removing [the non removable OEM tyre from the OEM rim] and replacing it with a similarly non removal tyre from the Merc rim. It's do-able if the tyre guys willing to give it a go.
With whatever product liability laws apply in Texas[?]; you're on your own, make your own judgements etc, etc.
Like the OEM wheel and tyre combo it can be used on either the front or the rear, it's the wrong size for both[!] and isn't hub centric.
