April, 2002:

I'm in the service department at Pikes Peak Acura to pick
up my '93; (had an alignment done). My Wife walked up to the showroom
while I was chatting with the guys in the service dept.
A few moments later my Wife comes back to the service dept. in an
overly-excited demeanor. She kept saying "you have to come up here and see this car, the color just is amazing!!"

As I'm walking up to the showroom I see a brand-new '02 LBB.
The exterior color was stunning but at the same time the Blue interior
caught me off-guard. I kept saying to her "but the interior is Blue".

She told me she liked the interior and wanted me to buy it.
I told her I really like my Black '93.....but she insisted, she wanted me
to have it and (as she put it), "you deserve it, I want you to have it".
We discussed it that night, put it in our budget and purchased it the next
morning.

8 years, just turned a little over 50,000 miles, we have taken it on
6 long road trips including 3 cross-country. We just returned from this last
trip down to Phoenix, to Tucson, over to Alamogordo,NM, Lincoln, NM
and back home. (about 1,900 miles R/T)

Ever since I was 16 and saw my very 1st NSX in Boulder, CO, I always wanted to own this car. Over that span of time I have owned 5 different NSX's however, as an original owner, I can attest to how truly amazing this car is. I am the type of driver that loves to "drive"; which simply means, in 50+k miles, every time I have driven it, (no matter where I needed to go)
my '02 has been wrapped-up to 8,000 at least once. (typically a lot more) ;)

I've topped 160+mph enough times I lost count; my best is 172mph in NV
on US HWY 50. My Point is, following the break-in, this car has been
driven rather hard and fast its entire life. In 8 years, 50+k "spirited" miles,
I have never, ever taken it to the dealer for a unscheduled problem.
I have never had one single problem with it. The Japanese TRULY made an
amazing car! My personal opinion is, the NSX is the best car ever made. I have had many opportunities to buy Porsche, Ferrari, zo6, thought about the new GT-R for a momen; but....IDK....something about the NSX; I compare other cars in this class to the NSX. I always find myself thinking
"it's no NSX"........but that's just me.

The next 8, 10, however many years are on the horizon..... :)

Here are a few pics from our latest trip :)

Just turned 53,000 (s)miles in my 2002!!!!

I love stories like this one! I only wish I had somehow found this automobile years and years ago. I can't think of any other car that I will want in the years ahead. For me, it is the perfect blend of everything I would ever want in a ride  Great story, and thanks for sharing! Happy motoring. Jay

I've always envy the ones that were able buy the NSX right of the showroom and be the only owner of the car. I took an depreciation hit off of a new S2000 and regretted it. The NSX is probably one of the very few I would not regret buying it brand new and take the depreciation hit.

Thanks for sharing.
