I have a Hitachi 53UWX10BA HDTV for several years now. Unfortunately I place it too close to my receiver and the magnetic field from the reciever has causes the right side of the hdtv to *warp*. I have lived with it for a while now but now I like to fix it. I got a electronic copy of the service manual, but its making reference to the INPUT key and SERVICE MODE key and I don't know what they are.

If you have a similar model or brand, can you tell me what the key(s) are? Thanks.

I would suggest that you Google this on their "groups" page which will search groups like alt.tv.tech.hdtv and sci.electronics.repair where you will find stuff like this:

"To put the set in service mode you must open the front panel (four
screws, 2 on each side). Then remove the center panel (six screws).
Press the blue button in the bottom left corner of the TV's insides.

This brings up a crosshatch where you can do manual digital
convergence. To change the point to be modified, use 2 (left), 4 (up),
5 (down), and 6 (right). To change the convergence at a point use the
joystick. Change color by using 0 for red, recall for green, and input
for blue.

The Info button is some sort of auto-correct, after you make a number
of changes hit it. I'm not 100% clear on what this does, but probably
some sort of averaging between surrounding points.

To save changes hit pip md twice, then pip ch. Hit the blue button
again to get out of service mode. If you make a mistake just power
down the TV.

There is a separate memory for regular and HDTV geometry. Select which
input you wish to modify before going into service mode. I'm not sure
if each HDTV input has its own memory.

One word of caution, I was told that modifying the green gun position
could mess up geometry. I'm not sure if this is really true. If
anyone tries this, let me know by posting here.

Anyone who plays with this and finds an actual service menu like on the
Toshibas and Sony, please let me know. Perhaps pressing the button
while powering on would do this. It'd be nice to turn off velocity
scan modulation and tweak other stuff."
