Advan AVS Model 5's, where are you at?

After a long search I finally have my Advan 5 wheels. Thanks to Chris for selling me a set. I ended up getting them powder coated bright silver and lowered the car using KW V3's. Today I spent 3 hours playing with various spacers to get them the way I wanted. I looked at pictures on this thread to help, so thanks to everyone!

Here's where I landed:

Front wheels are 17x7 +40mm with 15mm spacers
Rear wheels are 18X9 +40mm with 15mm spacers ( I tried 20 and 25's)
KW V3's all around
Powder coating: Wheel Techniques in Santa Clara - Color: OEM Silver

All I can say is this is the best my NSX has ever looked. Thanks again to all the Advan 5 posts!

This looks perfect!!!!!!!

Since getting mine refinished I like them alot. Although there is something about model 5's that the general public do not realize and that is that they are not OEM. They sure look like they should have come factory even though they are aftermarket.

Agreed 100%. They should have came on the cars from the factory new!

That looks great! Such a classic wheel on a classic car. In terms of a classic, subtle addition to a more or less stock NSX you really can't beat the Model 5s and the 02+ OEM wheels. With a mild ride height, conservative tire and camber specs, you could keep the car looking like this until the end of time.

Nice job!

Thanks. This thread IS the reason I did it.

Just had my car lowered on KW v3s, so I thought I'd take some pics of my Model 5s.

Wheels are actually a 17/17 set, not a staggered 17/18. Don't recall seeing too many people running a 17/17 setup.

Specs very similar to OEM 02+ wheels (17x7.5 +35 front, 17x9 +40 rear). Tires are AD08s (215/40/17 front, 255/35/17 rear). They were also recently repowdercoated hyper silver. The rears have 10mm H&R spacers.

Sorry for the dark pics...took them right after a wash around sunset.

Finally got my 2nd set of 5's mounted up on the LoveFab car.

The 17x8's (35mm) from the set I got from Chris have 235/40's mounted, since this car has Cantrell Concepts 30mm wider fenders.

The 18x10's (19mm) from the set I got from Stephan have 285/35's mounted, and they are an aggressive fitment to say the least!

No worries, this is an aggressive car.......

does anyone have a set of reasonable 18s for the rear? i have a clean set of 4 fronts that i may be willing to swap you with...17x8 +45. (perfect for a 17/18 set up)
if all else fails, ill be putting all my 4 wheels up for sale....cuz theres nothing more depressing than a gorgeous set of wheels that just sit there un-mounted!
PM me

I finally got my full set of advan model 5's!! Going to try to fit 18x9 and 19x10 .. Had to buy 6 wheels to get what I wanted. So, 2 wheels are in the for sale forum if anyone is interested.

Quick question though.. Since 2 of the wheels are a different color I need to get all 4 of them redone. Just wanted your guys opinion on what color I should get them done in! Let me know! My car is beeline btw!

Here we go, Had my set completely redone and decided to get them machined with a clear clearcoat. A little hard to tell the difference in pictures between the standard silver finish.

Daylight pics that show the actual color.

I like the look... Think I'll stick with it for a while.

Can't express how perfect the fitment is. On Tein RA down all the way in the front... another inch possible in the rear.

18x9 35mm 225 35 18
19x10 19mm 275 30 19
