Any dealers making actual orders with factory yet?

If I have a car, It will be there. You bringing the kids? Plan on having my 8 and 11 y/o in attendance.

We are all hoping that you and some others get delivery, will be great to see you guys and everyone again.
Cheers Scott

My salesman just updated me that my order status moved to factory order confirmed as of May 16, 2016

no info on the timing of the rest of the process

No reason to be jealous.

The first step in the process that has any clear meaning to me is "shipped".

Due to this program being run by folks that failed to take a communications course, we have no idea what the early process steps mean and the associated timing.

Splendid

My dealer committed to updating throughout the process (I didn't ask for this, they are just excited to be in the program).

I can see dealers not wanting to provide updates because the lack of clarity on what the steps mean and timing for the sequence will lead to more questions they can't answer. In the world or sales, not addressing questions results in barriers to the sale existing and sale folk can't deal with that. This is on top of their normal world of selling what is in front of them (literally) instead of this custom order hoo hah.

At least some of you "luckier ones" are making some froward movement progress. I'm still waiting for my (smallish) dealer to get word of allocation approval to send mine in. That was expect at end of April or early May. Still NADA. ;< (

Sorry about how you are being treated GadgetmanIt speaks to the lack of clarity around processes for both the launch an the ordering/fulfillment for the carI am kind of surprised that folks in the first allocation haven't all been green lighted to place their orders

Thanks for the concerns and good words. Actually I'm OK with the delays. Plus I'm flat out on a number of other things so better off not distracted with a new toy at the moment.
Being a smaller dealer I do realize they have to wait in line, which means me too. They are trying their best and that is good enough. They have done a few extra things on my behalf to get interim certification because the existing facility is smallish and for sale. But they are building a mega facility in near future. So have obtained interim certification with understanding their sister dealership will be equipped and accessible as/if needed till new one is complete.

VIN #1 and ceremony to announce "Mass" production will be this Tuesday, May 24.

Woo Hoo

Maybe we'll start to see some long (way overdue long) awaited forward motion/progress!!! : < )
I'll keep an eye out for changes here back at the end of the line up. ; < (

Hmmm
Does this mean I can or should stop looking into getting a nice Gen 1 as a Interim Fix?!

Awesome

This confirms my predication that Rick will be there for the car rolls off the line event.

Now let'w see if the car is destined for becoming a permanent store display (my prediction) or for killing bugs at high speed on the road.

This is a screen grab from my dealer--- from an internal email blast to NSX dealers from HQ. Straight from the source. Of course, the precise definition of "mass production" is not provided....

Then its good news then. I think by mass production means that its a serial production and it defines as production per batch. Maybe 5 cars per batch.

So, is this why there's been no car magazine full measurement tests .. do they typically wait for a prod'n vehicle? And since each NSX is tailored to a specific customer order, how would they ever get their hands on one other than to pay someone to use their car?

FINALLY!

Just got word from my dealer that they got their allocation (#1) green light and I need to get there for the formalities in next few days.
I hope they can get some good/real (in good lighting) pix of S Silver so I can finalize my order with peace of mind... or make educated changes. The assigned/trained NSX sales rep is making some calls on that.

Very cool

The 001 ceremony info has been very canned

no details about the factory humming along after Hendrick's car

Thanks for the intel of the color distribution Gadgetman.

So more than a third of customers are taking the $6K paint option.

Strange that this kind of info is available on color distribution, but no info on when our cars will be built.

Did they have the paint and interior samples for you to see?

Glad to help with info.
Yes I've seen the samples several times and for some time. I think I was the first to post them on the site.
Plus I saw VRP in NY last 2 years plus in MA (Framingham) ... the one at dealers used in Boston Marathon.
I love the Red... as a plan B. I like to be a bit different and the numbers show than SS will be a lower number... so far.
I really would like to see good pix of S Silver before 6/3 which is my deadline for changes.
If not to my liking/assumptions I'll probably get VRP (over CWP) as plan B
That data came off a sheet of all current order specs I was given while finalizing my order.
It is merely a compilation of order data/stats to date so not related to the actual building.
I was very impressed to be allowed to see it let alone get a copy of stats upon asking
I may try to scan and post it in future.
