Best deal on an '01 ever??? jh4na21661t000147

I'd been watching this auction for the last couple of days to see where it ended up, thinking there would be a flurry of activity near the end of the auction. Nope. Nada. Nothing. Zilch.

The carfax shows 1 accident, but it doesn't say how major (or minor) it was. There are literally no photos of the interior or engine compartment, and the sellers description was about the most inadequate description I've ever seen - the combination of which probably explains why there was so little activity. That and the fact that it looks like this was their first auction, so they had no prior feedback.

It actually appears to be a very nice car - if the "accident" was just a bumper or something very minor, whoever took the chance and bid on it just flat stole a nice low mile 01 NSX :frown:

Re: Best deal on an '01 ever???

Wow. That's shocking. I seen this car a few days ago, I figured it would go in the mid to upper 30s. Who ever purchased it, got a heck of a deal/steal, hopefully the new owner is a primer and he can shed some more light on this car.

Re: Best deal on an '01 ever???

does look like a good deal... face value.

1: ebay seller has no feedback (big item to sell with no feedback)

I definitely do not like the acura emblem over the word acura in the center tail.

2: no interior pics, missing spare, the car is definitely lowered and not stock as the description states.

Searched Prime....

3: Was listed here three years ago with 38,698 miles and only has 39k in three years! 3a.Whole car has been repainted (why?)

4: Listed with the same pictures that it was listed with 3 years ago?

5: Was listed three years ago for 43k

6: 12/23/08 car had 42500 miles on it!!!!

7: Accident was in Colorado, last registration is in Colorado, being sold in SC?

A lot of red flags in my opinion, good deal if its legit but not for me.

Re: Best deal on an '01 ever???

Odometer roll back?

Re: Best deal on an '01 ever???

searched the VIN and car also with same pics was sold on 7/28/10 in Irvine California.

something fishy with this car. hope the real owner isnt having his car dragged through any mud.

Adding VIN in case anyone searches prime they see this thread

The pictures on ebay don't look to be a pictures of a coupe.

That VIN belongs to a 2001 NSX-T registered in Colorado.

The photos on flea bay show it across from a business called BMW Auto Recycling, Inc. A google maps/earth search pulled up a street level view of that same business seen in the flea bay photos being located at 3697 Recycle Rd Rancho Cordova, CA.

cbk

RSO yeah and the listing for the car is in SC funny.

RSO do you remember the thread where some guy posted the pics of his friends Coupe and then removed the pics with the front bumper cuz it wasnt aligned correctly. thats the same car in the pics on e-bay
but that was a 1999 coupe not a 2001

Whoa. This thread got weird in a hurry

Either they're not particularly bright and simply didn't state the current miles correctly (the auction says 39k and the carfax shows 42k+ a couple of years ago) or they're not particularly honest and purposely mistated the mileage thinking it would be more appealing to potential bidders if they thought it had less than 40k miles - either way, since there's no current photo of the odometer we can't really arrive at any conclusions re mileage - if the actual odometer shows more than the last carfax reporting, then that would largely undermine any concerns about an odometer rollback.

Shawn - if you look at the pictures you can see that this is not a coupe - you can clearly see both the leading and trailing edges of the Targa top in 2 of the pictures. The VIN number of the car on ebay is jh4na21661t000147 - the thread you posted was for a car that had the VIN number ending in 180 - it's not the same car.

I feel compelled to state that this is ultimately of no consequence to me either way - I'm not the seller or the buyer nor do I know either of them so I have no dog in this hunt (as they like to say in the South) - I just kinda hate to see some poor guy unknowingly get his new NSX trashed here unnecessarily. I like to keep an eye on what NSXs are doin' on eBay and I just thought it was a smokin' deal if the accident it was involved in turns out to have been nothing more than bumper cover damage

Hmm.

It was apparently for sale here for $49k back in 08 prior to whatever accident it was involved in:

For whatever reason, the current seller used the same photos from the previous owners ad here on Prime, which explains why the car is shown in Southern California when the eBay auction shows South Carolina.

Why they used 3 year old pictures and didn't mention it was completely repainted prior to the accident in Colorado in the ebay auction remains a mystery

And not only was it parked across from the auto recyclers, it was wearing their license plate insert:

The plot thickens

Captain OverKill,

I know the VINs are diff but a guy posted about a month ago asking how much his buddies 1999 yellow coupe was worth,

the pics that are on e-bay are of the car I am talking about.

then the guy removes the pics cuz everyone was telling him its not " THE Coupe listed from honda as being teh 1999 coupe.

the e-bay listing is a scam.

like RSO said its registered in another state and the pics are from CA and the car is being sold from SC its all doesnt add up. it what we are saying.

we have been down this road a few times with these fake scammer,

there is a guy on Prime that has had his car for sale like 5 times and he isnt selling it. LOL its safe in his garage. they stole the pics and were tring to scam with them

I found the thread but the pics are all deleted they were the same pics I promise

you are right the pics on e-bay are of a T and not a coupe.

I hope someone will chime in and show him what i am talking about. cuz now I am confusing myself

HELPPPP.... haha

If you look at the un-edited pics from the thread that was already posted, you can see it has B&M&W Auto Recycling plates on it...

Checked a phone number for that place and it directed me to a post here...

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129779#post1255068

Apparently somebody on here is the owner of that yard:

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1384976&postcount=64

And they rebuild / sell NSX's...

Maybe they can shed some light on this vehicle...

EDIT: Found B&M&W's Better Business Bureau review:

Cliff's Notes = F Rating...

I love the threads on prime where internet stalking is at its finest ... my favorite by far is the online gambling guy who turned out to be a criminal

guys i know allot about this car it was my old yellow one back in the days! car is clean title when i purchased it out of a Florida repo auction back a few years ago. i repainted the whole car it was not that good in shape as far as the paint went. but the car had no accidents all parts were original. and it ran fine. the guy who bought it from me was from Colorado i wanna say its been so long. new owner nice guy!

shawn the wrecking company is mine i purchased it about 4 years ago this year! i had some dumb Feeeing employees at one point in time! i also have an Honda and Acura wrecker as well so that yellow car belong to me at one point. was a nice car only thing when it left my hands it needed an 02 sensor

The ebay ad is not available anymore. What did the car sell for?
