Yep, but it's already lifted with a 6" rubicon express lift. Rolling on small 33" till they wear out, then it's going up higher and getting 36-37" tires shoved underneath it.

Looking at doing a XJ project or an 85 toyota project now. Or skipping the whole idea and buying a shifter kart.

nice. im thinking of going 4.5 lift and some 33s. something cool but not for crawling. im a poser!!

The major problem is the nasty axle wrap we get from the rear end. You can park the car, put it in gear, with e brake and try to turn the rear wheel by hand and watch the pumpkin start to tilt up or down. Trac bars are a definite must. It flexs like a mutha on the rocks, but it's sorta scary how floppy it's become on the street. I think the jeep has the BEST pedal setup, it's really cool heel toe shifting it, way faster feet control than my nsx. Its also got some crazy bump steer. Kinda scary to drive! But it's sooo much fun! Another thing is, 55 mph is about as fast as I would ever wanna drive in it, so I don't speed since even 35 mph is an adventure, lol.

Next jeep, I'd like to try a SPOA lift. Cheap and easy way to gain 4"-6" or so but keep the stock like ride. Would be a nice alternative to a full spring swap like our jeep and still keep it daily driven comfy.

In 1991 my 1987 Wrangler burnt up.
At that time I was working with a Friend restoring classic Corvettes, so he suggested we restore the jeep. We did. If you got any questions about your jeep, I probably got an answer, just PM me. If it is the 4.2 even better for answers from me but worse for you as far as an engine, if its the 4.0 thats much better. My Dad used to kid me that I spent more time under the hood than driving it.
Without a doubt it will be fun this summer, get yourself a bikini top.

A Jeep Wrangler with the top down, and doors removed is one of the most fun driving experiences I have ever had. It can also be argued that a Wrangler will fetch the attention of more ladies than the NSX does.

Have fun!

it has 33" tires with a 2 inch body lift. I wouldnt recommend going higher than that on a CJ cause they have a better chance of rolling over I havent bottomed out on anything yet. The Cjs are great jeeps. The 4.2 inline 6 feels way more torquey than the later wrangers. My friend has a 97 Sahara awith a 4 inch lift and 33s and mine has more power on the hills. But the only thing thats a draw back on the Cjs is the leave springs. The new coil springs on the TJs allow way more articulation than the leaves. But nothin beats the bad ass clanking sounds when it articulates haha

I used to have a '70 Toyota FJ 40 cruiser that had a lift and 33"s. That thing was a blast....It's my opinion that old cruisers are better than wranglers....but if I had the cash, I'd get a landrover defender 90.........Anyway, have fun w/ your project

i thought about going that route but the parts are harder to get and more expensive!

Plus there's nothing like a topless, lifted jeep with fat tires!!
