C7 Interior... cheap or not?

I showed that video to my buddy that sold me the NSX back in 2007 and he was impressed with the overall improvements of the C7 and super jealous of the instrument panel since it was better and more modern than his R8...... *cough* stretched TT.

*cough* with a Lambo v10 engine with over 500hp *cough*

The R8 went on sale at the end of 2006, with nearly the same interior it has now. It's 7 years old. I'm glad Chevy caught up. And honestly, to me the R8 interior still looks nicer.

Yea, the R8 is OLD..... like soooo yesterday.

110% agree. I think we are moving in to a time period of very strong American cars.

Yep. The 2008 great recession did some shaking up.

Just look at the new mustang anticipated specs:

480HP DOHC "vtec"
no more live axle. IRS!!!

And it looks like a family member of the Aston Martin

I cannot address the interior but I saw a C7 (with Michigan tags, of course) on a recent run from VA to CO. I picked it up somewhere in Ohio. I left a trail of droole from following it for about 50 miles. Looked great from every angle!

The interior is much improved from the C6. On the whole- the car feels better built and more solid.

I had the chance to sit in one recently and GM is making steps in the right direction. I just can't get past those tail lights.

I think it looks fine, but will have to see it in person.

When you are getting a car that outperforms cars that cost much more, you have to make some sacrifices.

The car interior finally caught up with the NSX...

SS
umm...really?

Corvette = still looks cheap compare to the NSX

I think you are confusing a busy interior (with all these geographic lines everywhere in the NSX interior) with cheap.

If you get the C7 upgraded interior package both interiors will have stitched leather and carbon fiber (which I think is sooooo overplayed these days).

Sorry but a ~$30K current model TSX's interior looks better and more sculpted still. Even the ~$20K ILX's interior has better fit and finish.

Like everyone said, it's getting better, but there is still room for improvement. It reminds me of an Rx7's interior. Do not let the C7's power/performance or the flashy tech coerce your opinion.

My NSX 's interior with a double DIN still looks better IMO (it's more elegant and fit/finish details are superior) and the R8 interior looks better still.

You guys crack me up. Lets see - 460HP, 7 spd manual with rev - matching. Basically - a wonderful track day car, wknd car, and a date night car with all the luxuries of a modern car for $55K. IMHO - nothing really compares to it in the price range. The luxury of a Targa means its a pseudo - Convertible when you want it.

Some people will never like the Corvette regardless of what they do with it.

They've addressed the major flaw in the interior - and although some might not like it, there's no denying it's not cheap and well made.

Aluminum frame, 460HP/465TQ direct injection motor, magnesium seats, 7 speed tranny, $55k...you get a lot for your money. If only that LT1 motor will fit in an NSX...

No one was questioning the value - that's a no brainer. The focus was on interior design and fit/finish. There are still people who will not buy the Corvette for this very reason or the fact that it's going to sell too well.

I'm not sure a 7 speed manual is a selling point. And the C7 interior is great for 55k! At 100k (ZR1) it might be passable. At least it blows the GTR interior away.
