Checking vacuum in each cylinder

This usually is not necessary, since you can already do a compression and leak down test for each cylinder. If there is a vacuum leak, you should be able to see it via a vacuum gauge connected to the brake master cylinder vacuum hose, although you need some other method to pinpoint where the leak is. I've heard that smoke can be introduced into the intake, with engine off, and that smoke injected under mild pressure will show you where you have an air leak when you see it escape.

But what if the vacuum leak is uneven across the cylinders? Is there a real time pressure gauge I can insert into the spark plug hole that gives me a plot of the pressure, either positive or negative, as the engine cranks? For a professional mechanic, this can save a lot of time.
