Coolant Tank Question

Hi,

Does the top hose located near the cap connect to anything at the bottom or does it just hang down?

I installed my super cool Dali coolant tank and I didn't check this before jerking on the hose and my shop manual isn't very clear on this.

Right, it's the overflow discharge tube and it does not connect to anything, it just hangs down.
