I usually do my own detail work but I wanted to get this one started off on the right foot by hiring a pro (first time I've ever done that). The car has been sitting in the garage for most of the past year with monthly or bi-weekly drives at most. It received a full detail until this week. There are several before photos, some side by sides and some after photos along with the detailer's commentary. It was done by Mirror Detailing in Dallas, GA.

Here's a pic prior to taking the car to the detailer. It looks pretty good as it is but get that camera flash up close...

Condition of the paint prior to any work.

Rear area is where I did my testing. I did not even have to use a light source other than the over head light. Paint was looking pretty dull.

Test area, left side after just compounding, right side untouched.

After finishing the spoiler completely, you can notice the difference from the over head light alone...from the spoiler down too the truck lid.

Did a test area on the hood, bottom portion completely buffed, top portion not. You can notice a color difference between the two.

After everything was done, brought outside to check the work and get some pictures.

It was $450 for the detailers "Level 1" which was basically interior and exterior with 90% correction. Wheels/tires and whatnot. That was basically on par with what I found with other top notch detailers. I would say somewhere around $350-750 is probably the range you'd find for reputable exotic car detailers depending on what level of finish correction is needed.

That looks really nice AJ. lack of scratches and shine make the finish look liquid. Rich and well cared for. With the shape of the NSX and the quality of that finish, I could stare at it for hours. FINE ART!

Nice results !

Maybe post up a short list of materials used to achieve these results.

Cheers

A good detail with multistep polishing should cost around 500-800 depending on how much work has to be done...

However I have seen detail pricing go up and down by as much as $150 depending on the wax used on the finishing step...

Hi grade carnuba like Swissvax Divine is very expensive and takes a lot of skill to apply vs regular wax with low canuba content in them...

This was a good detail...

Looks very nice...

looks AWESOME!

im going to assume the m105 stuffs was used for paint correction??

No idea what he used. I forgot to ask. :frown:

Looks amazing. Sometimes it is just worth the money to get it done professionally.

It was totally worth the money. I'm debating on having him do this once every two years with me doing my usual wash/clay/wax in between.
