engine check light need help!

hello there recently i been having a hard time starting up due to the engine check light that comes on. I change the main relay and I realize that one the black wire on the connecter connecting to the main relay is acting strange.. I grab the black wire then the engine check light goes off and i can start my car.. so I'm trying to figure out the problem. Once its start going and the car heats up while driving that problem doesn't occur anymore with the engine check light only when I first trying to start up. Do you guys think I need to replace the black wire?

Unplug the connector and look at the pins to see if they are all the same length. Sometimes when you plug connectors together a pin gets pushed partially out.

How close to the connector are you moving the wire that makes the light go off?
