My father passed away a couple months ago, and as a tribute to him I have taken a short book he wrote and made it into an ebook for the digital age.

It is a book of stories from his 25 year career as a police officer in a small city in Kansas, spanning from 1952 through 1977. It is a free download from Apple's iBookstore (if you have an iPad). Lots of pics and clippings, most of them pinch/zoom/rotate enabled, I think it looks great. Dad would have liked this, I wish I'd thought to do it for him last year. Posting here because I think some will definitely enjoy it.

I also made a PDF version for everyone else. It has all the same stories, but not as many pictures and without all the whiz-bang multitouch stuff.

Enjoy!

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure he would have loved the thought and effort that went into putting this book together.

Some of the most interesting stories I've heard are from officers that served long ago. Some good, some bad.
