Grand Prix White: clearcoat or not?

Does GPW have a layer of clearcoat or not? I'm in the process of detailing my car and I'm trying to decide on an appropriate polish to use... White's a pain in the butt, in my experience.

All factory paint jobs have clearcoat. Whether or not it's still on your car is another story.

If I remember correctly, Grand Prix White does not have a clearcoat, according to an Acura Service Bulletin circa 1997.

Hmm, not sure about that one Ben. I'm pretty sure my GPW has clear. In fact, I know for certain because unfortunately I peeled a little clear off the passanger door when I was removing a sponsorship sticker I was running at one of the shows.

i don't know for sure, but for $80k, i'd assume it would have a clear coat...

I know the Championship White Integra Type R doesn't have a clear coat.

It doesn't have anything to do with price. Some manufacturers choose single-stage paints to reduce the appearance of fine scratches that are more noticeable on clearcoat finishes.
