Hi, new and WTB NSX!

Hi everyone, i have been reading and getting info from this site for a couple weeks now and have been searching for a NSX to purchase in the near future and would like it to either be berlina black, formula red with black roof or any NSX T.
I am looking at 91 thru high mileage 95's etc. and would like to stay under 25k$ range, but may spend as much as 30k$.

I would like the car to need no mechanical service at all( tb/wp, hoses, coils etc be replaced) and not in snap ring range and no leaking vtec solenoids or reservoirs etc.

I would like the car to be about 500 miles from phx az but am willing to ship a car if its what im looking for. i would like the car to have some stylish custom rims that i feel are tasteful and other mods such as upgraded exhaust, header, brakes, paint etc is also acceptable. What do you all think about the stock NSX on autotrader with only 24xxx miles for $25,000? is it too good to be true?

I am also starting to get in contact with a few prime members here about their NSX's for sale and may be asking more questions about those members reputations and their cars.

If anyone of you have any advice or know or see any good NSX's for purchase please let me know as it would be greatly appreciated!

so are you in the phoenix area?

i think for $25k you're going to find a lot of samples with maintenance issues. For $30k you'd have better (much better) luck.

yes i live in central phoenix, born and raised here. I have found some good cars for about 26k and like you said some very well kept ones for high 20s to 30k$. thx for advice, are NSX T heavier than the coupes? Does the coupe out perform the targa top version?

Yes targas are heavier. THe slowest year is a 95 i think. the non targas have the best track performance. The later cars with more hp and better transmission and brakes have marked improvement in all around performance, but are beyond your stated budget. If you are willing to drive to peoria 67th ave/101 i can give you a ride.

I have posted my 95 Red/Black NSX-T here on Prime. It looks like it fits your parameters if you are looking for a Targa.Last posted on 10/29 under Indy2phx. I am in Chandler and drive the car several times a week around town if you would like to meet. Good luck finding one.....it is one of the few things in life that will put a smile on your face each time you take it out to play!

Cool, thx for the offer i will for sure take u up on it sometime. i am usually up around 67th ave and bell on the weekends eating and drinking at a few of the local spots up there with my gf. Looks like i am leaning toward a couple black nsx's in california. Hope they are still available in late Jan or early Feb.

sounds good. Unfortunately right now the ole nsx has a minor mechanical issue necessitating a full engine build but my ford is also available for rides.

Blew my ringlands from running lots of boost for lots and lots of miles. Science of speed kids doing a full forged internal build, and I'm switching from my blower to a turbo for giggles.

Ha, after my run with you on the freeway, got me thinking about changing to a whipple on my GT. The guy offered to put one in before he shipped it out, and i declined. Right now i'm at around 620 rwhp/tq, and the standard 3.3 whipple would bump me to 735-750rwhp on pump for a few thousand $.

amazing thing with those fgt's... stock fuel injectors and pump, as well as transmission are good up to over 1000 rwhp. I think clutch upgrade is recommended above 850 rwhp! woh!

If you want my opinion,which you probably don't, I say do it or go to the twin turbo kit. I would wait and in time go to the turbo kit. JMHO Brian

nsxmas lives in north west phx, and has an immaculate low mile 91 if you are looking for viewing purposes. don't think he's selling. it's very very nice. I keep bugging him to drive it more, but he's a tough sell!

ps my monster is almost done. you're welcome to a ride in either that or the ford econoline van at your pleasure.

Has anyone known any of the nsx's for sale on craigslist? there seems to be alot of cars here on prime selling for very low $20's that didnt need any maintenance done at all.

There is a seller in So Cal that is willing to sell me his car for $20k. seller name is contactace. Car is red with black top and pics seem to show clean exterior and interior is good except driver seat is really scraped up and nsx floor mats have so much wear on it that the "NSX" has rubbed off. (i know floor mats are cheap to replace but makes me think how much wear and tear is on engine?) anyone know any SoCal members that look at nsx's for a pre purchase inspection?

I would like to take a look at a local members car next weekend or so to see what details i need to look at and what areas i need to inspect carefully.

also what is easier to take care of color wise? black, red with black top, or all red?

any more comments or opinions?

red is far easier to keep clean looking.

I'd say the interior is not so much an indication of wear on the motor, so much as an indication as to how attentive to detail the owner is. Of course... i'm kind of a slob... but when i drop off my nsx, i rarely ask the cost... i just tell the guys (mark basch first...now sos) to fix whatever needs fixing, and bill me..

LOL I took my NSX out this Sunday, after making sure all the tires were fully inflated after sitting for a few weeks, all fluids topped off, etc. It was a very nice day to drive my NSX! :biggrin:

Can't wait til yours is done so we can go get some bbq or Greek in our NSX's. :tongue:

NASA-AZ has an event August 20-21 at Firebird. There is always a few NSX's out there. Come on out, I'm sure most of us would be willing to take you for a ride.
