Just asking, but has anyone looked into putting hood struts/dampers on our cars?

Jeff (Carbon6) put them on his. If you look through his build thread he should have some near the end IIRC.

I've wanted to but on my procar hood i'm concerned about having too much force exerted by the struts on the hood mounting points. I'd totally do it on a stock hood and maybe i'm concerned about nothing...

Your concern is certainly valid! My Seibon hood is light but extremely flimsy. I need to make a free-body diagram and calculate the strut forces for various mounting positions and then come up with load distribution plates! I would even be concerned with the OEM hood. That's why it is low priority on my wishlist.
