Very impressive stats associated with this car as well. Was the holder of highest top speed for a production car for years. I think is was 212 mph.
I always thought the 220 in the designation of the car was for the cars top speed.
yes, they tried to reach 220 but 212 was 'all' they got.

In 1992 at the Nardò Ring, Martin Brundle drove an XJ220 to 212.3 mph (341.7 km/h). Because the car's catalytic converters sapped the engine of an estimated 60 hp (45 kW), they were later disconnected and the rev limiter was increased from 7200 rpm to 7900 rpm in a quest to make the XJ220 go even faster. On a later run with the modifications, Brundle took the XJ220 to 217.1 mph (349.4 km/h) (the equivalent to approximately 223 mph (359 km/h) on a straight road).

I think the NSX is by far the better looking car.
I've seen several Jags that look very like that, but not quite.
