New owner with some initial impressions

Yes, I’m on mlife and several other pages. I ordered an orange 720s from Dallas but Chris left right before it was ordered and communication got sketchy after that. Anyway, long story short, they called out of the blue after no communication for months to tell me the car was in and it was about 2 weeks after I had bought a new plane and I wasn’t in the mood to spend another 350k on a car I never thought was very good looking despite its mind numbing performance. This seems to be the direction of mclaren is going. The senna and speedtail are hideous looking. The NSX is actually pretty and I’m liking it. The frantic acceleration of a mclaren above 100mph is something to behold...1000cc bikes couldn’t keep up w my 650s lol.

Couldn't agree more. McLaren may have peaked design wise. THe function over form this is going too far with Senna and Speedtail. Things don't have to be ugly ie Valkyrie and One.

I really like the 720S in an exotic way, but it isn't as sleek or as sinister as an NSX. I think I may have to have one when I can afford one years down the road.

IMO, the best modern mclaren design so far has been the 675LT. The new 600 is pretty sweet though.

It will compete well against those cars. Hurican w walk it after 100 and mclaren will make it look like a Prius. That said, I’m really liking mine. I need to hear a stock nsx because the science of speed system is fantastic. So many complaints about sound.

Where is the tune coming from? Acura approved? They need it! At 3800#, they need electric motors on until battery runs out at all speeds and 50-70 more reliable hp out of the petrol engine. Mclaren figured this out QUICKLY on the original 12c and immediately offered free tune that changed the car, it’s sales and perception of them as a serious modern supercar company.

There are a few tunes that are rumored to be around the corner. I think you may have just joined the FB group, so you can read all about them. In any case, there are supposedly tunes from Tunerwerks GmbH and Hydra motorwerks. Fabspeed's is still in progress as well as a few others. As for Acura approved ones, there aren't any yet, although there's a thread in this forums where an NSX specialist was gathering potential interest in one.

I just got added for the fb page last night. The 85hp piggyback tune looks promising. I like something I can disconnect for dealership visits... plus, I had a JB4 N54 years ago and that tune was amazing!

May I have more info? Extra 85HP for the NSX will be awesome! Thx

Black or bare will be better... black offsets the lower fascia IMHO. Thats what I did as you saw. Dont forget to powder coat that chrome exhaust piece too.

Heck you can plasti dip it and it will withstand all the heat and elements for 50 bucks LOL.

Now here’s an old name I haven’t seen for a while. I see you made the jump from MBWorld to NSXprime too Vic! Good to have ya!
