After lurking around and reading as much as I can, I finally found the car for me. It started as a search for a coupe and GPW. Then I found the Unofficial Berlina thread and boy what a game changer. Just saying hello to the community. Anyway the about the car. It's a 91 with 47K on the clock, all stock, but not sure about the exhaust. It looks different compared to other stock ones I have seen.

Thanks for the compliments. I only wish I could reach the beauty that most of your cars have. Here are some shots of the exhaust. Forgive the dealer photos.

Looks aftermarket and not an OEM later model exhaust. So I would think that if you got under the rear or got it up on a lift there would be a name on it somewhere. A lot of them look alike from here but the exhaust tips actually don't look round - are they kind of rounded squares?

Anyway there are others here that maybe able to spot this right away.

How does the interior look? You're going to love it I bet!

Look at the engine bay you could eat off of it. wow, I wish mine was that clean.
great find. any service records with it.

TB/ WP and belts, valve adjustments, hoses, etc. 20 years old, these items should be looked at

just cuz it looks Perfect you need peace of mind.

get it done if no records are with the buy.

Again thanks for the compliments. I will surely do a very detailed inspection of the major components. Coming from the Audi world TB failure is always on the mind. Anyone got information on the wheels pictured? I know alot came with "Fat Fives?" Were the 7 spokes a dealer option? Just looking to order some spacers but not sure where to begin regarding the wheel specs. Thanks again and I am happy to be a member. I appreciate any information that you guys can provide.

I would also like to say thanks to tbromley. When researching I always found your posts very informative. You manage to always articulate the joys of ownership perfectly. Always a pleasure to read.

You wont find anyone on Prime that doesnt think Tim is informative. LOL

Tim seems to Have the ability to take both sides to every argument and still be right on.

I think NSXPO 2010 should hand him an Award for Best Service to the NSX Community.

and down here in Florida We Love our NSX's as we get to drive them ALL YEAR LONG. LOL

To answer your question the wheels pictures same as mine are 1995-2001 Rims, my 1992 had the standard
5 star looking rims, but mine were extra special, they were dealer Option CHROME. they weigh in at 40lbs a piece with out tires I think not good. so I went and got the rims from a 2000 NSX same as your new car has.

Tim almost sold me on getting a 911 because his unbiased comparisons. I'm from Florida also. I am usually between Gainesville and Orlando. Finally do you use any kind of spacers on your 95-01 wheels? If so what specs do you use?

The 15" stock wheel weighs 15.2 pounds and as such is probably the best you can get in terms of acceleration performance.

Stock rims probably do weigh in at what you stated, but I am telling you my stock Chromes weigh 30-45LBS I dont know if the previous owner had them chromed or they were dealer option or did some off the wall Chromer guy did it at home but they are a beast

Skitz and Shawn,

Your posts concerning my advice and posts are mighty nice. Some here may not quite share your enthusiasm; I've certainly been getting my butt flamed on another thread here lately and it even pulled out PBassjo to give me a whack.

I am glad though that even with my unbiased opinion on 911s that I somehow managed to still tip the scales over to the NSX! I surely meant too. I've been reading some more about the intermediate shaft bearing and rear main seal failures and the fixes for them. Geez - can't believe you had a close call and almost went 911 - although the new 997.2 engines since 09 seem to be doing very well.

I do try to be informative/objective and Shawn really got me with that "both sides of the argument" comment. I guess though it really just boils down to my own internal turmoil and examining each side - there are usually merits to both sides of any argument but then I deal in things like that with the ADA.

Skits you have a really pretty car. I do hope you got records??? Like Shawn says if you don't have any you usually have to expect the worst but this one looks so nice .....however, we all know what judging a book by its cover will do for ya. I still never got the details of what you bought, as in year and mileage, etc. price??? All the stuff that helps us make those great comparisons and keep our car gauging criteria up to par. Please let us know what and where you found this beauty and all its stats.

Those wheels look stock to me and if you have an early as in 91-93 then they are surely from a later model as 7 spokes would tell you from the 94-96 years I would suspect.

The paint and engine bay look just super. You've at least got a nice platform to work from. Good luck and I am just guessing here as you think of spacers - that you may want to see where you stand on maintenance before you go to far with other "looks" stuff cause your car already looks super to me!

It does have all the maintenance records though the TB has not been changed yet. The car is out of snap ring range, so no worries on that. The interior is nice, though the bolsters are worn but that is to be expected. I was never as close to getting the 911 as I was for the NSX.

The hardest part was deciding which year NSX to get. I was deadset on a coupe so that left my search mainly within the 91-94 range. I then set the mile limit at < 50K, this further narrowed the search. As I stated before I was fairly set on a GPW until I stumbled across the "Unoffical Berlina" thread. After seeing some of the amazing cars there I knew the car had to be black. The only other requirement I decided on was that it had to be in a fairly stock configuration.

This was one of the first ones I noticed but it was the last one I checked on. It was odd because I kept coming back to this one for weeks before I ever contacted the dealership. Once everything was said and done I paid 30K even. The biggest headache in this whole deal was getting my Bank(BOA) to wire transfer the funds. Needless to say I soon will be a USAA customer.

I am looking foward to getting a few DIY jobs under my belt. I have an extensive mechanical background and enjoy getting my hands dirty every chance I can. I am certain that I will have plenty chances for that between the Audi and NSX. Sorry for the long winded post.

So Skitz, let me make sure I understand you - you mean that you have a 91-93 - you didn't say which and it's never had the Timing belt/Water pump replaced?

Man, that is one thing I would rectify as soon as possible. You are surely living on borrowed time if that's the case. Although you have to say that is another amazing testimony to these cars....

That is the one thing I've found with small dealers - cars like this - low miles on an early model and no service records. Whew - lots to think about there. Good luck with it and it's a beautiful example.

Congrats on your NSX and welcome aboard.

The previous owner was going for the record books (about 19 years).:biggrin:

Sorry I apologize, the TB has been replaced. The dealer will send the information over about it. It was replaced according to the dealer in his words, "Less than 2,000 miles ago." I will keep you posted.

Thanks again Tim. I just assumed with the mileage it wasn't a huge concern. You and slamstrom got me thinking about the age of the vehicle.
I still plan to get everything inspected in depth in September when I am back in the states.

That being said, does anyone have a specialist in Florida they would recommend?
