hey guys, need your advice on this. i just basically installed my nsx-r hood made by VIS and for some reason, the driverside front of it it not flushed with the headlight. it's popping out a little bit, not much but kind of noticeable. any ideas what i can do to remedy this problem? hood look real nice, fitment is good but just that part im having trouble with.

any help appreciated.........tks !

In the front corners there's one each, a black bumper sticking up to cushion the hood.
I found that on mine they were holding the hood up not allowing it to sit flush.
Put some grease or something on the top of each bumper and close the hood to verify that's the problem. It will be on the hood when you open it if they're rubbing.
I used a small Rol-Loc wheel to shave off some of the rubber to allow the hood to sit down. It fits nicely now.

Cheers

I have the EXACT same problem on the drivers side.

I have the same problem. I actually removed that rubber stopper thinggy and that didn't make any difference. So I took the hood-off and I'll let my body-guy fix it when I send the car to the shop.

hey guys,

i have the vis hood, with no issues... its on a 97 not sure if theres a fitment problem with the updated look.

but this is how i centered the hood...

you will have to loosen all four bolts that connect the hood to the arms.

leave them a little loose and try and center the hood. once you find the sweet spot slowly tighten the bolts so the hood will not be pulled one way or another by the screws... sounds simple but its a little harder to do then it sounds. i had a buddy with me to tighten the screws evenly on both sides so the hood wasn't pulled one way or another.

my $0.02

tks for the feedbacks guys. someone had told me to leave it under the sun and put some weight on it and it will eventually soften up ....not sure if that will work though but it will be last on my list.....lol

tks again !!! im loving my new hood otherwise !!!

a quick fix that might help, the latch assembly on the front, loosen the three bolts and put it down, when the hood closes it will hold it down lower so that both ends sound be more flush with the headlights. worked for me.

i took one of the rubber thingy on drivers side and it helped a bit, but it's still not flushed. i will try the latch assembly repositioning . i will posts pics as well.

It won't soften up. You can add a nice set of hood pins and that will take care of that. It worked well on my Z but you gotta like hood pins.

sorry, im just not a fan of the hood pins..
