NSXPO 2003 Discussion

Hey Gary, you may as well send any and all car care products you have in the garage out to Lud, because you sure don't need them.

Ed,

It is a work in progress. I actually had some speed shine with me in California. But, then again, it was nice to have the only NSX at the motel where I was not worried about leaving the key in the car while I unloaded stuff into my room:D

The Canon 10D is a great camera. I wish I were a better photographer to take full advantage of all it can do. The web photos are resized and have fairly high JPG compression as you can tell. The originals are much better but it's not reasonable to post well over 1000 photos at 2-3 MB each on the server for a single event.

Infineon had a lot of different vantage points from which you could take pictures, but the sun was not at a very good angle for many of them as you can see in a number of the pictures.

My favorite angle was very tough to photograph. There was a very small window, maybe 2 car lengths or less, between the weeds I could shoot down the hill from the inside of turn 6. However people were going pretty fast through though there and it was tough to catch it just right, but when it worked it came out well:

Actualy Gary All your car needed was to be up on soap boxes to really have that just stripped and left for dead look.I had to stop the front desk from calling the cops thinking your car had been broken into!lol:D

Monday pictures are up if anyone is interested. Point Reyes - no NSX content. http://www.nsxprime.com/Events/2003/nsxpo2003/20031013/20031013.htm

Thanks for the help so far sorting out the unknown track cars on the Saturday Oct 11 page. A few remain if anyone can ID them.

BTW I am not trying to sort the group photos, I just need to ID the individual car photos (the set above the groups track shots).

There are also a few cars that were not listed in the track participant list I received. Mostly high numbers, so I am guessing they were last minute additions who were on the waiting list. Most are on the "#91 and higher" page. If you know who they are, please let me know!

Damn awesome work, Lud. I know how much time going through these shots take (since I haven't even gotten to the track days shots myself).

Now the obvious question...any chance I can get my hands on the full res versions of the shots of Valerie and me (and my car on the track)?

Regarding high-res images.. I've really had too many requests to deal with via e-mail. I am trying to figure out how to get them all on a CD or two, then I can send the same thing to everyone which would be a lot more manageable. I'll post something when I get it worked out.

Just a little hint for next years NSxpo: Wouldn't it be worth to hire a professional video team to produce the next DVD blockbuster for U.S. and the rest of the NSX world? Or would it be too expensive with all this NTSC/PAL/SECAM conversions - not to mention the country codes?

I would buy one if I could use it here in Germany (PAL).

I would definitely buy a video/DVD, especially if it contained footage of the CHP escort & caravan! Anyone look into that with the news station? Thanks.

Definitely can't rely on the attendees (especially track participants like myself) to put together a great video. I found the schedule way too packed to do much shooting.

The Thursday Oct 16 photos took a while due to being busy and out of town quite a bit but are finally posted: http://www.nsxprime.com/Events/2003/nsxpo2003/20031015/20031015.htm

No NSX content for either day. After Thursday I went back to San Francisco for a few days before flying home but I've already gone way beyond the scope of an NSXPO report so I'm stopping now.

Just out of curiosity is anyone actually interested in these extra non-NSXPO photos I sometimes post if I make an NSXPO into an extended vacation, or is it just the electronic version of boring people to death with your home movies?

ALSO: For everyone who has asked for high-res versions of the pictures I posted from NSXPO, I should have a CD ready of the high-res version of every NSXPO and NSXPO track event photos I posted on the site ready in the near future. I'll post details when it's complete. Don't worry, it won't have any of the vacation photos! ;)

Keep the other photos coming. I am always interested in photography, whether or not it is related to the NSX.
