For future reference - I had a nice leisurely breakfast in San Jose at 7:00 am on Saturday, left there at 7:45, and got to the track entrance around 9:00 or so (drove via 101 to 68).

Hi Ken,

We all were at the parking lot by 5:45 am with the first cars showing up at 5:30. There was a Starbuck's open in the supermarket so we had our fill of java and croissants. We were also able to get our ear protection at a civilized cost.

We left the parking lot at 5:58am. We also had a leisurely drive (average 80mph) arrived at Gate "A" 6:55am. Unfortunately they wouldn't allow us past the gate nor to park there until the gate opened at 7 so we went up the road to the next entrance which by then was open.
