OEM shocks made by...?!?

I have the US-spec' Type_S suspension (1999 Zanardi NSX), and on the shocks it says "SHOWA". I am aware the 2002 NSX-R shocks are also SHOWA.

What about the OEM shocks, are they also made by SHOWA?!?

Honda owns Showa, so it is pretty rare you ever see anything other than a Showa shock on anything made by Honda.

I wondered if Honda owned Showa b/c I have Showa struts on the hatch of my Integra. I don't see anything about Honda ownership in the history of Showa: http://www.showa1.com/en/history.html
