Thanks Scorp965! Received my tank today and the finish is much nicer than I expected. I suggest to flush the coolant tank before installing because when I shined a light inside there was some shavings.

Hope everyone else takes a look inside before filling up.

Is there a DIY for the install?

Not yet, but it's pretty straight forward:

If you go to Pepboys and get a PVC plug kit, you can plug the bottom fitting on the new tank, then use a turkey baster to transfer the coolant across. Then quickly swap out the hoses, to minimize spill. Prior to this, you'd want to transfer the brackets over to the new tank, and remove the mounting bolts. Also, the bracket which attaches to the left side of the tank must be 'tapped' into place, since the new tab is about a mm wider.

Shouldn't take more than 15-20 min taking your time, doing it the first time.

For what it's worth I followed the instructions in post 2 in this thread when I replaced my oem tank:

just sent payment, couldn't resist. Replacing an old SOS tank

Any more left? I got a SOS tank and it cracked, had a local welder fix it and looks like a 16 year old kid repaired it in his high school workshop.

We'll keep the buy button on the first post active as long as we have inventory available, we have several more in black and polished finish.

Installed this morning. I have a few complaints...it took me about 10 mins to install. I had dressed for an hour job and I don't know what to do with the other 50 mins. Mine did not have shavings in it...is it because I'm from Tennessee and they thought I would try and make a trailer house with the extra metal? Lastly my other shiny bits don't look as shiny now.

Yikes.........I put mine in without flushing or looking. Couldn't drive it for a couple days because mine came without cap. Cap arrived today and I took it for a spin. Had HUGE temperature swings from 179-194 that I have never seen before. I'm hoping it's just a bubble and nothing serious......
