The start
Seattle, WA to Ashland, OR

John picked me up and we headed to see his car at the shop, along the way we ran across this dumb moving crew. They were stuck in the driveway and couldn't go up or down, the wheels were spinning in the air as the rear bumper was stuck.

He was getting some last minute tuning done to the Porsche, and to my surprise a set of racing sears installed.
The seats were great if you were racing, but this was "not a Race..... it was a Rally " I kept thinking to my self, these seats should be allot of fun after sitting in them for 5 days.
The car was not ready yet so we decided to look around at some of the race cars that they were getting ready for a big race next weekend.

The 965 looks kind of tame compared to these beast's.

I got to the hotel and headed strait to the garage to see what cars were there. A local stereo shop came down to install a few laser shifters and detectors on 6 of the cars in the garage. The cars started pouring in around 5pm, buy 10pm there were 42 cars getting washed and all stickered up.

I meet a few of the German guys as well quite a few people from Canada. I was still on east coast time but that didn't keep us from partying until 3am, and we had to be up at 8am.
The next morning I threw on my vote for Pedreo T shirt and wig to complete the outfit, I grabbed Chi and headed to the breakfast.
On the way down in the elevator there was this old couple who kept looking at Chi with evil looks, as soon as we hit the lobby they bolted out of the elevator. I walked to the front desk to check out with my head high, the girl at the counter starts to laugh as I walked up.
Just then the Manager asks me if I could please check my doll at the bell desk because he didn't want the other guests to get offended.
I stated to laugh and said no thanks, he said I insist sir, just then some of the Players run guys came up and started to molest Chi. See that there not offended, they started passing her around like a football which didn't go over to well with the stuffy old people in there business suits that were in the lobby. The security guards came over and made me take her out of the hotel, as I was no longer a guest there so they asked me to leave. I stashed Chi in the Porsche as she went topless and hanging out of the sunroof. My co driver sat in the car as I went to film the start, when I got back he said there was a school bus full of kids that were laughing at Chi. Then some guy stopped his car whipped out his cell phone and took a pic of him kissing Chi.

After the police escort ended at the highway we all stated to step up the pace, at one point we were in a group of lead cars when we passed a cop going the other way. He hit us with laser as we blew by him, but we never saw him again.
A few minutes later we get a call from one of the guys in the blue 360cs telling us that a group of them got arrested for speeding, he was in cuffs on the side of the road standing behind his car and the police where taking pics of him with the cuffs on.
They also took his video tapes and searched his car, they ended up giving them all tickets for reckless driving and then let them go. As they got a few miles away the cops caught back up to them and pulled them over again, this time they wanted the route map of the first leg of the "Rally" The driver said they couldn't have it then the cop said if you don't give it to me I am going to arrest you and through you in Jail. The cop then took a photo of the map and let him go.
20 minutes later we hear on the police scanner that they know our route and are waiting for us all along the way.

Every city we went through the local cops would drive along with us, making us go slower than the speed limit.
We were getting passed by soccer moms in there mini vans.
We would lose one cop and there would be another one waiting a mile down the road, at one point there was a county Sheriff following us for 40 minutes, then we got into another county and the State police picked us up.
We had 9 police escorts in 4 hours, the state cop was following us as we were in the back.
So we slowed down to 30 in a 55, thats 15mph less than the minimum speed limit. The cop would still not pass us, we were trying so hard to get a ticket for going too slow as he was shooting radar at us the entire time.
By the time we got to the first check point, we had 11 unwanted police escorts.

There was even a Forest ranger waiting at the top of Crator lake for us to show up, it turned out that was a good thing as most of us where running on fumes. The nearest gas station was 28 miles away but it closed in 5 minute's, he called ahead and had them stay open until we got there. I didn't think we would make it as our gas light was on for the last 35 miles, but it was down hill so we could coast if we had to. Just as we show up at the gas station the red GT2 in front of us runs out of gas and glides into the station. With only 89 octane gas and one crazy looking gas station attendant, we decide to take a few gallons and head down the road to another station.

WSP PUTS A TEMPORARY STOP ON "PLAYERS RUN 2005"

At approximately 9:00 AM a reported 50 high dollar sports cars left King
County on a multi-state road rally destined to end in Las Vegas, Nevada
(according to several of the drivers arrested by Clark County WSP
Troopers).

Law enforcement agencies all the way down the I-5 Corridor into Oregon
have been receiving reports of these vehicles driving at high speeds. The
cars are easily identified by the "Players Run.Com" decals plastered all
over the vehicles, (as if their aggressive driving and choice of vehicle
were not enough).

At approximately 11:45 AM, today, Troopers in Cowlitz County observed
"many" vehicles sporting the "Players Run" decals traveling at extreme
high speeds south on I-5. Two of the Troopers managed to get 2 of the
vehicles stopped. Trooper Kenny Lutz, south of their location in an
unmarked vehicle, had a group of 5 race past him at an estimated 120+ mph.
He followed the pack at a distance, their speeds varying between the
speed limit and 100+ mph, driving aggressively with constant bad passes,
lane travel and following too close violations. A 6th vehicle (the blue
NSX) which was not part of the "Players Run" joined the group near
Woodland.

Sergeant Roy Rhine in Clark County set up just a short distance of where
the pack passed Lutz. When they reached Sgt. Rhine, he and Lutz tried to
pull the 6 vehicles over. They failed to yield by continuing at the speed
limit or less, by not pulling over for the Troopers. The Troopers ended
up doing a rolling road block, stopping all traffic on the freeway and
singling out the 6 they wanted and moving them off to the shoulder.

Troopers in Lewis, Cowlitz and Clark Counties ended up stopping
approximately 15 of the "Players Run" vehicles, plus 2 others that got
"caught up" in the moment. 3 were cited for speed violations of 90+. One
for Negligent Driving 2nd Degree ($538.00) and 8 for Reckless
Driving (up to $1000.00 fine, 1 year in jail and an automatic 30 day
license suspension).

So far the highest recorded speed on one of the vehicles has been 126 mph,
(he was cited for reckless). The vehicles were licensed in the states of
Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Maryland, Florida and Texas.

A trooper in Lewis county advised one of the cars he stopped, a Porsche,
was outfitted with a police scanner, video equipment (live streaming video
which he claimed was being sent directly to Las Vegas), GPS unit,
communications devices to stay in contact with the other cars and the
driver claimed some of the vehicles were outfitted with devices to jam
police radar. The same driver told the Trooper that "we are just a bunch
of wealthy guys that have money to spend on gadgets", "We are
enthusiasts". Driver's told the troopers that to participate they had to
sign an agreement that they wouldn't break the law while on the run.

The attached pictures are of 5 of the 6 vehicles stopped in Clark
County. The blue NSX was not a player's club member. 2 pictures are of
the map handed out to all the drivers and shows the route and planned
stops to Ashland Oregon. The other picture is of the group of cars
alongside the highway in a "group" shot.

I see in one of the photo's you were at Park Place Ltd.
I enjoy stopping there when I can and looking at their excellent selection of cars. As a matter of fact, I bought my X there 5 years ago
