I originally bought my NSX to not modify. My intent was to look for a car that would not need anything but enjoyment of being driven. I can not drive the NSX at stock height. Although low slung already the gap is Blasphemy. Now I am after the most extreme NSX that looks stock but severely modified as if it came that way from factory. Now if I find an NSX red, black canopy one owner in prestine unmolested condition I would leave that alone and stare at it. It is the original look from the 91 models. I know of one but the 70 yr old lady will not part with it =/

Says the man with the million page build thread with 2 different wide bodies and an interior that's fuzzed from top to bottom.

But yeah, my intention was to keep my car stock originally or do reversible mods that way if I ever wanted to sell the car I could just put it back... Six years later there's no turning back for me now. I'm in to deep, haha.

A stock NSX can also be considered showing respect for the thousands of hours the designer and engineers spent developing and refining the car.
And we continue to enjoy those refinements as we rack up the maintenance free miles.

Shigeru Uehara urged owners to learn how to take their NSX's to it's limit and become expert drivers.
Improve ourselves as drivers before spending money on performance modifications that are beyond our skill level.

I can honestly say my driving skills are not up to my stock NSX limits so I don't spend thousands of dollars on say a suspension system that is beyond my ability to use?

Putting on body kits/big wings and other bling that doesn't improve the performance of a car is a mystery to me.

However I accept that some people would put a big wing on a 57 Chev or 63 Sting Ray or, if rich enough, a Ferrai 250 GTO.

Jim I agree with you and Mr. Uehara. But... When you love your car it's very hard to resist not doing anything to it. I like my car more now as it just looks and performs better to me but I have total respect for stock and guys like yourself that believe in that philosophy.

I agree with you when you really enjoy your car it is hard not to do things to it.

In my case, it's an HID kit to help my aging eyes, a Grom adapter for an IPod/Iphone, or changing the 22 coolant hoses.

I find the NSX's I gravitate to at various NSXPO's and other meets, are the ones that appear more or less stock.
Some have had very significant modifications but are very much sleepers.

I like that look as opposed to this NSX.

I own an original stock 1991 that I bought new. I too won't part with it

This person also had an original 91 and I'd like to think he would have kept it had he the chance.

Eager to see the final product, from the pic it appears you integrated the side scoops into the fender; nice!

I'm pretty sure I drove past you today. You were pulled over on the right side of the 5. I was in my nsx, black with gold wheels.

I have a love hate relationship with the Marga sides...they're nice and aggressive but hang too low to the ground which prevents me from going lower in the rear. The rears are I's Impact spates and flow nicely with the sides versus factory rear valence. And showing Prime members of me pulling out of the driveway...I would probably get crucified. LOL!!

My latest pics having colour stitched the interior, changed the auto gear lever, upgraded to a Momo Tuner steering whee and polished the car with a DA to detail the paintwork. Sorry had to send a link as the photos dont upload direct of my Mac (dont know how to)
