question about wheel spacers?????

Are there any negative effects of using spacers? In particular, the 3mm ones. I used to have a audi TT that had bigger spacers on it. They caused some vibration and I had to remove them. Any problems with this?
 
Probably not until you go above 8mm. 3mm is perfectly fine, it is very thin, there is more than plenty of room for the wheel to be hubcentric, 8mm is barely hub centric it will still sit at center of the hub. Anything above, your wheel will not sit on the center of the hub, you will not be able to get enough turns for the lugnuts.

Look at the picture below, the center of the hub has a section that sticks out, this is where you center your wheels, that section is approximately 10mm.
