I got rear ended while sitting still at a light last year. Minor damage but killed my oem wing.
If Brook is the place, you should talk to them before you take your car and make sure they are willing to go to bat for you and deal with the insurance on your behalf. I met the Statefarm adjuster at DownForce and his est. was based on the minimal industry standard repair which did not agree with DownForce more detail, proper repair that will last a long time. My est. was just over $2k doing the quick and dirty job and Sean@DownForce was able to "explain" to the adjuster how he would repair the car properly and DF won their justification at a much higher amount. This is the easy part. Now the DV claim.
I am also going down the path of a DV claim and it basically involve the Small Claim court unless the insurance company willing to pay which they won't. By law, you are entitle to a DV value and I used Autoloss.com to begin my process and their fee is $200 to get an detail est. of the post-accident value of your car.
Of course StateFarm wasn't willing to pay after few exchanges of letters. I got my est. at CarMax for free. Make an appointment and say you want to trade in your car and see how much its worth. I took it to a Acura dealership but they won't do it since my car is not oem and they don;t know the value of all the mod parts. My DV est. is $6k so I am taking them to court. Even if I win my case in court in Oct., to collect will be another battle.
