Smallest Production Car?

I had one...an '86 GT "fastback"

Went over 110 ONCE, hit a dip in the highway and the headlights took turns blinking up and down as the car practically launched in the air!

Anyone know anything about TVR's? I saw a '73 and thought it looked very cool. Otherwise it's still a Midget until I check out your others suggs.

It's not the smallest production car, but I was thinking a good car for your project might be a Lancia Scorpion. It's got a nice exotic look, and if it could be beefed up it'd be pretty cool.

There was one at an autocross I attended last spring (pics below). I think it was a '59 from Arkansas with a rotorary Mazda engine. Damn thing was QUICK!

How about the Datsun 510. Most race prepped 510's are less than 1800 lbs. Easy to modify and you can put ALL kinds of engines in them. Check out Bryan Feldman's Rotary 510:
