Hello,

I just started to install the stacy side skirt from Downforce last night and I notice some considerably large gap (shown in pictures) from the Factory side skirt... May I please ask for any help on how to reduce this gap or eliminate it please?

Thank you in advance!

no I think he is talking about the gap between the door and the skirt.

one thing to check is when you removed your originals when you pulled them off the little connector that click into the square holes down the side of the car when you pull the original skirt off you willhave noticed that some or all bent the aluminum structure of the squares.
when you press the clips back in they dont sit right. my trick was to get a hammer or rubber malet and bang them back into orignal postions.

that may help center the skirts better but thats BIG maybe.

good luck

I'm still working on mine, but I did have to shave a little fiberglass off here and there to get it to fit snug and tight. Fitment is good, but not perfect like OEM, so you will need to work it a little to get it to fit to your liking.

I will try that hammering method when I get home from work tonight, thank you, and yes I was referring to the gap between the sidekit to the door

Great, my car is at the body shop now getting these SSS installed.

I better get down there and test fit them tomorrow.

Are you going to paint them? I do wraps - if you were in Texas I could help you out and wrap them to match the rest of the car and possibly save you some $.
Check with a local high end car wrap shop if your interested and let me know what they quote you so I can tell you if it's a fair price...

I went by the body shop to test fit my Stacys side skirts purchased from Downforce and they fit without the gap.

Perhaps you should contract the company (where you purchased them) and explain to them that the gap is completely unacceptable.

Good Luck

I bought these SSS straight from SOS because DF website is down, I emailed them on the day that I post this, and until today still no reply =/

I manage to get it to fit a bit closer by replacing the clip, with new ones I got from the dealer, but the gap is still about twice the size of the OEM gap (comparing to my driver side original sideskirt I havent taken off)

@UnitedNSX Thank you for the offer, but I have a friend that own a autobody and he's helping me doing it for free =D

Did you ever figure out how to eliminate the gap? Will adding the 02+ door pieces fill in the gap?

I am wanting to order some of these but not if they are now having issues fitting properly. Any more pics? Thanks

He already has the 02+ Door pieces. It seems like with a little fitment and painting will help someone hide the gap, although it is a rather large gap.

I think it is normal to have that large gap. I installed mine, but mine is NA1 not NA2 and I have about the same gap. Could anyone here post their pictures of their cars with Stacy skirts?
