Sun Shade or DashMat?

My new '98 lives in the garage, but when I do take it out - in the CA Summer sun - the dash (and consequently the interior) gets HOT.

Is there a preferred dash cover? Searching didn't help...

WOW this is a subject that I have wanted to know about myself.

I currently use a sunshade, it helps alot but here in Sunny Tampa Florida

my black/black gets so hot you could cook an egg on the seats.

I can only say that the sunshade keeps the temp down 6-7 degrees but thats it. if I dont use it you get burned if your wearing shorts. and by the time the car cools everything down your home. so its a never ending battle.

hope others can chime in with what they use.

as for the dash cover, now your living in the 80's all over again. LOL

Shades and covers are fine - when the car is parked.

The sun still bakes the huge, black, flat dash when moving. Over time the sun will do damage.

My preference is a dash mat. Always in place, nothing to store. But I've seen too many that are cheesy, and fit poorly...

RedNSXt bought his NSX with a very mild tint on the windshield. So mild that u have to stare at it to think it was tinted.

When I drove it I noticed that the sun that was coming through the windshield wasn't as hot on my hands and arms.

Something to consider.
