The Fast and the Furios 2

I'm hoping it will be a Pontiac Aztek and a VW New Beetle.

The Skyline that was at SEMA this past year was supposed to be the main car(It was at the HRE Wheels booth, and thats what the guy there said. Also, it was black at the show, but he said right after the show ended, it was getting completely re-painted, then on its way to shoot in the movie)
I have pics, but only with a regular camera, so I don't know what I would have to do to upload them here (Scan them and e-mail them to Lud???)

the skyline will be the star of the movie, the nsx will be a compeditor, there supposidly will be a lot of american cars, these are through the grapevine but very possible,,,

No offense to anyone who really liked the movie, but I hope there isn't an NSX in F&F2. I would hate the first thing to come to people's minds when they see an NSX is Fast and the Furious.
I think the actual cars in it were professionally done and deserve merit.
I'm sure there are quite a few Supra owners out there ready to snap the next time someone mentiones F&F to them. I don't want my car associated with illegal street racing. The extra attention from police in LA is not welcome either.

I say they put an F360 in there instead and see how the guys over at Ferrarichat react.

Actually in hindsight the movie "to me" needed more action and less plot.Possibly some nudity....Not trying to turn it into some deep and meaningful love story and loyalty among thieves crap.
Fast cars, sliding reclessly into cop cars. And naked chicks w/ big boobs running.

The NSX is all about handling where 1/4 mile drag races are not where its strength lies. Plus on top, NSX has something the others (Skyline, Supra, RX-7, 300ZX, 3000 GT, Lancer Evo, etc...) don't have, class. Why bother racing with cars when they don't even cost 50% of yours? Technically, you've already won before there's even a race. Man, having the NSX in F&F2 will kill its reputation.

Some food for thought: Not trying to offend anyone, but I find it discouraging that the early model NSXs have dropped so much in price that they now are within reach of the "tuner crowd". The car is slowly losing it's class and mystique, and is becoming more associated with soft-core porn, ala Hot Import Nights, than it is with high performance driving and quality engineering. Being part of a Fast&Furious type movie will only serve to "speed along" it's demise, in the long run. I really hope it doesn't get used in the movie. I certainly don't want to be viewed as a F&F Street Racer Wannabe.JMO,YMMV

nsxlnt,

I agree with you. I still believe that with the nsx at 25-35k is still quite some money for a young person. When they can get a new honda civic/accord for less. Even if they can purchase the nsx, try purchasing insurance. Such was the case, when one kid told me he could afford a nsx, but couldn't afford the insurance. Meaning he really can't afford a nsx.

Part of the reason the NSX is more difficult to get than lets say a Supra (we are talking used) is the NSX will be "in years" older and more difficult "not impossible" to get a loan for. Most banks will not loan on a car that age and when they do it will normally be w/ higher interest rates and other quick pay off's which makes the car per month more expensive.Unless you do the loan through your parents etc. and "for me" it would have been easier to pass a Supra past my fathers pocket and eyes than the NSX which is more difficult to pass a exotic looking car past good ol' dad.To me the "only" Supra I would ever concider to be attractive in style would be a full wide-bodied race car looking version .You know the road racing track cars.

You are all forgetting .ITS ONLY A MOVIE..
I would be proud to see a steriod version of the NSX in F&F reguardless of authenticity.Sales would also go through the roof .Suddenly you'd see a lot of young "and older" people interested in purchasing one.I'm all for it!!!

How bout they make something entertaining and less of a 'white-boy-hero' and 'all- asian-motor-enthusiasts-are-biker-uzi-mad-criminals'

dont know about the rest of u ppl here - but FF was reeking racism.

how but a docu-movie, got to be better than the trash FF1 was.

I would like to see an NSX converted into FWD with 1.5 civic DX engine stuffed in the front.

Well im not sure if I should take offense to that, since I recently PROUDLY displayed my NSX along with SNDSOUL, at H.I.N. in New Orleans. Everyone there was very impressed with our cars, even though mine is pretty much stock looking, with a few minor mods. If you're theory about HIN being degrading to the NSX for being there, perhaps you should cruise on over to the Lamborghini forum, and see if they are ranting and raving about the 2 Diablos on display right there with me and SNDSOUL.

I'm all for show cars as I have a number of friends in the industry. Many need to realize that not everyone that is into cars is interested in performance. There is just as large a crowd into show cars, classics, events and creating something unique.
I think it's great to have our car represented in various shows and events.
I already mentioned above that I thought the actual vehicles in the film were very professionally done.
I only take issue with my car being associated with illegal street racing and the baggage that comes with it. For the most part, I think open minded exotic owners see their car at a show as positive. I love to see an NSX at any show, whether I like what was done with it or not. I don't think these same owners would feel the same way about their car starring in a F&F flic.

My biggest problem with the movie had nothing to do with the racing or horrible inaccuracies that further the spread of misinformation. My biggest problem was the shameless redubbing of dialogue to achieve a PG-13 rating. You could hear them say one thing, but see the mouth say something else. It was so poorly done that I felt like I was watching censored broadcast TV.

Yeah, it's like all those DeLorean owners who now must always be associated with Back To The Future....well maybe, kinda, almost like that.

You put that milk on your mush and you like it ,MAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

LOL! I like porridge.

Edit. It would be good to see the NSX on the big screen. More people would then know what it is. Although Pulp Fiction didn't do much for the NSX recognition factor it was fun to see the car on screen.

I think having the NSX in the Fast and the Furious 2 will increase the value of the car. First of all, there are not that many NSX's to go around. Second, look at the Supra, RX-7, Eclipse, etc. market. Stock ones go for all the money, modified ones go for more. All thanks to that movie.
