Thinking about selling

I have a '93 black/black/auto. I bought it in 1998, and it's been my daily driver since - it has 269K miles. It also has some issues: the EPS is out, the front drivers fender ahead of the tire was hit, the driver's seat is very worn, the stereo is shot, and the refrigerant leaks. I drive very little these days. I know that the car is appreciating, and I don't intend to sell soon. I'm looking for advice on whether it's worth it to get the issues fixed, or if I wouldn't get that money back when selling, considering the high mileage. I'm guessing the current value is maybe $27K.
 
I'm confused, you say you don't intend to sell soon ....but also don't want to fix some very serious issues?......who knows what else the car needs?....These cars can be very valuable and can appreciate...but they need to be properly maintained to do so.
 
It sounds like you are ready to sell. Even with the high miles I'm sure you can get mid to high 20's obviously if there's no additional damages. I wouldn't do the repairs then sell, just let the future owners know what's going on.
 
In it's current stated condition the car sounds like a beater. No way is worth mid to high 20K. I'd say closer to $21k and it'll sell in less than 24hrs to a high school kid who can convince the NSX would be a great starter car.
 
The issues you are describing are minor and easily fixed at a reasonable cost. More importantly, in the 20 years that you've the car have you maintained according to the factory's time/mileage intervals and do you have documentation to verify the maintenance. For example the timing belt/water pump service should occur at every 90,000 miles so you should be getting ready to have your third installed at 270K miles. The ones that are appreciating are the examples with a verifiable service history and provenance and are essentially issue free at the time of sale. I had all the maintenance done according to the schedule in the owners manual, and beyond - I think it only goes to 150K or something. I threw out the records when I moved from SoCal five years ago, but I'm sure the shop that did all the work could get them. It runs great, I just don't need EPS or for it to be cosmetically perfect right now. I'm only putting on a few hundred miles a year, and it can sit in my garage for free. Insurance and registration are negligible.
 
Daily driver since '98??? Any car that was my daily for the past 20 years would be wore the eff out, NSX or not. If you do choose to sell, my recommendation would be to sell as is and not bother with repairs. You'll never get that money back. Miles, condition and transmission (not necessarily in that order) will affect what you're offered for it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I am glad we still have civilized people on Prime not like Facebook that can post a constructed suggestion. With a questions like what OP has posted, everyone would have flamed him and say something like "The car is worth however the buyer is willing to pay for" or "I hate post like these!"

I'd rather look at a car with some issues than a car that had some issues sorted out the cheap way. With the obvious issues be prepared to attract potential buyers with low-ball-offers. If the history of the car is not well complete or well known it can get tough.

As it's your DD now, what car are to replace it with? Just a question if you really want to sell it.
