whats the wettest longest lasting tire dressing out there, also whats a good glaze/prewax to remove swirls? thanks for your help

I've been using the Black Magic Tire Wet Gel with good results. Easier to apply and lasts longer than the spray on types. Haven't tried the Meguiars Endurance High Gloss yet but I'll give it whirl soon.

I use the Zaino tire dressing. It's not the wettest looking (which I don't like too wet), but it has lasted longer than the other products I've used.

I use the Meq. Endurance for the daily driver tires because it last and is pretty cheap. For the NSX I only use Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire Gel. It isn't as glossy or goopy (made up word). It doesn't last as long, but looks much better and last a few washes.

Your second point about "a good glaze/prewax to remove swirls":
Do you want to temporarily "fill in" swirls with a glaze or remove them with a polish and/or compound?

I have had very good luck with Menzerna polishes with my porter cable:

I prefer these polishes for many reasons, but one is the fact that it is water based.

I finish the car with this:

And sometimes top it off with this:

There are products that will hide swirls for a while, but if you want eliminate them I recommend polishing by machine (yourself or pro detailer) and a good car wash routine to reduce introducing new blemishes. Good products are also helpful.

as for a polish/compound would scratch X be considered a polish/compound?

thanks

I have not used ScratchX, but I would classify it as a compound/polish with lots of fillers designed specifically for small areas.

If you have small, isolated scratches, scratchx may work fine.
If you have swirls all over your car, I would go the machine route.

There are tons of info on it if you search the web, such as:

and more general info on polishing here:

It depends on the condition of your paint, how much time and effort you want to put in to make your paint look better, etc.
Let us know how it turns out.

These tire dressing compounds are slippery stuff, be careful! Don't put them on if you plan on doing any spirited driving.

Henry.

IMO Black Magic Tire Wet Gel is the best all around tire dressing. It looks closest to the showroom gloss. I love most Mequire's products but their Endurance product sucks....it doesn't look that glossy and it lasts no longer than the others.

I use this:

It lasts a good long time. It's shiny, but not TOO shiny. And you can get it anywhere for around $6.
