trouble removing one knee bolster clip

Did you take out the knee bolster because of the loose leather?

I took mine out last night to re-attached the leather wrapped around it with glue so they look good again.

Also, it was taken out to give a bit more space for my pedal set install.

No.
I was taking it off as one of the first steps to get to this:

I agree those clips are way to tight. I almost broke my thumb getting my knee pad off to do my instrument rings.

I ended up removing the clips from the pad and reinstalled the knee bolster w/o them. It is tight and does not squeak at all. I saved the clips of course and marked the envelope I put them in for future use if necessary.

I thought my dash would rip apart before those stupid clips came free.

Glad that this isn't unique to me.
I didn't finish until late last night and I noticed this morning that the darn knee bolster needs adjustment! The ignition hole is not centered.
Got to snap it out again (hopefully just that side).
Let the fun begin.
