Main event between Matt Serra and George St. Pierre? Not too sure, but I am pulling for GSP!

Hmm GSP is more rounded fighter on his feet, Matt is a power hitter. I think GSP has know learned the art well.

GSP should destroy Serra and when GSP has his head together he may be the best lb for lb fighter in the UFC. His loss to Matt Hughes in their first fight, he has admitted, was lost before the fight started. He was so intimated he couldnt look Hughes in the eye. The loss to Serra he similarly did not have his head in the game and had a variety of personal life "issues" just prior to the fight.

If he has his head together, which I expect he will as the fight is in his home-town and he tends to get it together after a loss (ie look at the three Hughes fights - 1 loss and two strong wins), he should obligterate Serra.

On the other hand, this sport has shown me over and over again that one slight slip or mistake and its anyones fight. Either way, I am looking forward to it.

Forgot to mention the Travis Lutter vs Rich Franklin matchup...I predict Franklin, but anything can happen. There's even a boxing match tonight involving Bernard Hopkins.

Not a great event, but they can't all be. I was pretty dissapointed in Serra's effort, but GSP did look great. I hope to never see Kalib Starnes fight again...the guy is a total mental case. BTW, also very happy Calzaghe won, what Hopkins said before the fight was very innappropriate, regardless of hype.

I am bothered that a Martial artist is not allowed in UFC leg sweeps.

Who won the fight GSP or Matt?

Anyone know the best way to audition besides submitting a video, or whoreing yourself to a gym?

Come to Vegas. There are so many MMA fight gyms here it's crazy. Just 50 yards from my office there is the Fight Club, 100 yards away there's Throwdown Industries, and about 5 miles away is the Xyience Gym. Just work out at one of these places and I'm sure run into enough people who can at least get you a contact.

You are not allowed to hit below the knees, thus leg reverse leg sweeps are not allowed nor is a frontal kick to the shin, giving the wrestler a slight advantage.

I am currently trying to find a direct audition, trying to avoid the whole gym scene, I don't feel comfortable wearing uniforms and belts let alone represent a fighting method which has forms and systems.

For you fortunate ones in LA Dan Inosanto is still alive at age 70 take advantage of his mastery.

BTW didn't Kimbo lose to a fighter in MMA?

These gyms are just to work out, you don't need to join their fighting system. Most of them don't even have a fighting system. They are gyms, like Gold or boxing gyms. But regardless, you don't even need to work out. You just need to hang out an mingle. I just stopped by to see my co-workers daughter work out and I ran into Rich Franklin and Chuck Liddell. Good point its who you know and luck/fortune that takes you to places at times. I am in Maryland right now next month Dan Inosanto is flying to VA for training, I will be there then off to LA in June to train. If you know anyone I would appreciate the word, all I need is that first fight. :smile:
