Valets video tape joy riding an NSX? Is this your car?

It is time that this whole subject is put to bed.

My 2-cents is ... this whole thing was staged. And and a pair of fellows is having a good laugh right now.

Gee- did you read the thread, or just decide to make yourself look silly with an uninformed post? As it stands, I wouldn't give a penny for your 2-cents.

This wasn't staged- I found the owner of the NSX HERE on NSXPrime. When I saw it was an IL plate (I live in IL) I decided to cross post Scin's discovery into the midwest forum. Sure enough, the owner was located, and is planning a visit to the establishment this weekend. Other NSX owners stepped in and assisted in ripping the YouTube videos to quicktime format so S2Soto could take the "evidence" with him.

"Speedster21" better be REAL happy the owner of that RX8 didn't find him out the same way. The NSX barely took any abuse from what we saw in the vid, but that RX8 got treated VERY poorly. S2Soto's car was returned to him, and as far as we know it is undamaged, but based on the other posted vids there is a valid indicator that the behavior requires correction.

Now it is time to wait and see what happens...

its sad, that the owner does not appreciate nor value their car to park it him/her self as most logical people in our world today, know how valets treat people's cars. sheesh, just reminds of the movie Ferris Bueller's day off ..:D

To imply that one does not care about their car simply by allowing a valet to do his/her job is rediculous. If the paranoia is that great about your Honda then pay the 40 or 50 bucks and park it yourself up front.

I never have a problem valet parking my car. I give the valet a ten and park in front. The car is never moved. No problem.

hehe, you'd be lucky if that's all they did to your car. but, then again.... when's the last time you drove your car under 1k rpm? they likely aren't doing anything as bad as you're doing when you drive it....

not saying that's an excuse for them to go out and mess with your car.... it makes me uncomfy too.

ferris bueler's day off comes to mind.....

*Phew* ... after reading all these posts I was expecting the valet's to do some really crazy stuff. However, what they did was pretty mild -- assuming the NSX still had its rev-limiter.

Still it was a disrespectful act, and I feel castration would be a fitting punishment for the valet parkers.

Watch the rest of the guy's videos. Then you have to wonder, what about OFF camera?

Personally, I don't valet my car. In fact, I'm so nutty, I don't even let passengers in my car. It took 2 people to hit my ground effects with their feet when exiting the car to eliminate all passengers forever. Anyhoo, a year ago I lived at grand and mcclurg in Chicago. I was unable to see the video. What's the deal? Are we talking about Embassy Suites? There is a parking garage there that also caters to the AMC 21 movie theatre in the building. The valet guys from the hotel have almost run into me a couple of times. They don't watch where they're going. Based on what I've read, I feel for the owner.

Well, the video will always be on YouTube..

But here is a snap shot of the plate
...well, the current link has been removed...

Wow. I was just able to see that video for the first time. For those of you that don't have a problem with what those kids did, I have no idea where you are coming from. If I don't treat MY OWN CAR like that... you know, the one I PAID FOR, and I TAKE CARE OF.. then why would I be cool with somebody else doing that?
Personally..... I used to be a valet for Argosy Casino when I was 17 years old.
Seeing what I saw there, I will NEVER NEVER EVER EVER EVER let a valet park my car. I won't even let them park my pickup truck. Slamming doors, grinding gears, riding the clutch, throwing it into reverse before the damn car even stops rolling forward... no thank you. I saw how valets treated other peoples vehicles first hand... :frown: I really hope those dumbass kids were fired.

If any one would damage, steel or joy ride in my NSX i would take a gun and shot them to bit's! and do a burn out over them. LOL <> Hmm would damage the paint maybe first let them pay any damage! and intrest!

(don't take this to serious)

I know this thread is kinda old but came across it when searching for something. First let me get his out of the way I dont think what these kids did is right AT ALL. I am a Valet/Doorman (I also Bartend..thats a whole diff story..hint dont stiff) I have valeted in Vegas for three years also a supervisor at one casino for a while before that worked at a 5 diamond resort in Hawaii for a long time. If you care about your car and want to or have to valet, always take care of the Valet ($) and be sure to be POLITE, if you would like to park it up front then just ask not demand. Cause I had many people demand to park there own car up front and the only way you are going to DEMAND to park your own car is if you come with a $50 or more.
Oh and if you are rude to the valet or he knows the customer stiffs all the time I would not doubt that car with be beat on inside the lot. Trust me I have seen some crazy stuff. What you think might happen in the garage try to times that by 10. Dont get me wrong this is not what happens all the time. Oh and also dont think that all valets dont make money, I have had so many people treat me like shit cause they think we make crap for money. We do better then most people think. We are in the customer service industry and the customer should always get superb service, but treat them like how you would want to be treated or better how you want your car to be treated. And about people trying to be violent with a valet just make sure you are in the right, cause I had many people come out and try to pick a fight with me and I had nothing to do with why they are mad. I have only got into 2 serious ones at work....and yes we can defend our self if the other person swings first. And there is a handful of valet in Vegas that trains in MMA. WOw that was alot of venting.. I just want to say sorry for that if I offended anyone. Man I need to go to the gym and relieve some stress.

While I understand where you are coming from, and agree propper tipping is the right thing to do, I do not agree with the idea that just because a valet or bartender things their tip was not big enough they are allowed to retaliate against the customer by damaging their car or...umm...'modifying'..their drinks. I work in sales, and I am not allowed to just haul off and trash the guys car or belongings if he is a pain or buys for too slim of a deal. There is no justification for any of that over something as trivial as a tip. But, I do not have my head in the clouds, I know it happens....so I tip my bartender heavily....and NEVER valet.

On topic....what ever happened to these guys?? The owner was supposed to be going down there and never said what happened!! I want to know!! :)

Please tell me you are not justifying the mistreatment of someone's property because you they don't tip you properly. That is repugnant.

you actually think giving these kids extra money would've changed their actions in the least? it's still an nsx, and they still get to drive it - you're just giving them more money to do what they would do anyway.

if they don't feel bad about messing around with somebody's car to begin with, you just gave them extra money AND the ability to mess around with your car... but, hey, whatever makes you sleep better.

personally i would just be glad i got to move it (any nice car), even if i didn't get the opportunity to step on it.

Please dont think I agree with what those kids did at all. And I agree, I have fired guys because they screw around with some of our VIP cars. If I have a young person on my valet staff and keeps treating cars like crap that person has no right to be making the money we do. So I am not justifying that kind of action at all. I valeted my E46M SMG (old car) and tipped the guy 40 and was very polite to him, and he did the same thing that was on the video to my car and let me tell you I was pissed. But like I said if you are an ass and you repeatedly stiffed ($0) the valet and expect your car to be treated good you got another thing coming. For me I try not to valet also, if I do I tip pretty good and ask if I can park it myself, if I cant and they are rude I will deff park my car in self parking. I advise the same thing more so with a NSX.
And SYNTHESIS we do get to drive very nice cars. I think the nicest car to me I got to drive was a classic porche speedster mint contion, so beautiful. To me I have owned most of my dream cars except a NSX (which I will buy with in a month or two) and a Aston Martin (which I dont think I want to own till I am succesful with expanding my family company).
So again I want to say I dont justify or think it is at all right what those kids have done. Also apologize if I offended anyone, dont want to bring any negative atitude to the NSX community. I have been in a few car communities (S2ki,VW vortex,Bimmerfoums,MB world) and try to help out as much as I can and bring just positive stuff to it. Will.

Man I couldn't agree more. They were just a couple of little shits with poor character. You could have given them a hundred bucks and they would have still had their stupid little video camera in their pockets, and would have still been going "look I'm in an NSX" and been reving the piss out of it. I was also a valet at a casino when I was in high school. Maybe Hawaii is different. I thought the valet staff was some of the most grimy, dishonest, two-faced group of people I've ever worked with. Smiling at a guy while they get keys handed to them, and they beating the crap out of a car all around the garage as soon as the owner walked away. Having been a valet before. I NEVER EVER EVER EVER let ANYONE, EVER park my car. Ever. If they don't let me park it myself, I find someplace else. Remember, there's a reason these guys are in the garage and not serving you your dinner. I was there because I was 16 and liked cars. And I still wouldn't let my 16 year old self drive my car today.
