I'm sure this is somewhat of a repost because I have read a similar one but just had to give a big thanks to Will at Cantrell Concepts for turning me on to this one.

It's a Flowmaster PN:42582 bought from 21ST Century out of Florida for a mere $82 + shipping. (800-276-6399) Install cost of $120 plus price of tips.

Was told it sounds like a GruppeM but at a cost of about $300 vs. $2600, I think the math is simple. If your going for great sound to match The Car, this bang for the buck setup can't be beat. My personal opinion of course.

Sweet!!! Great post. I bought a Comptech a few months ago and wasn't extremely happy with the sound, but since it was better then stock I kept it. A month after buying it(used), the canister blew a hole somehow? So Ive been planning on just cutting out the Comptech can and welding a Flowmaster in its place. Thanks for the post!!

Kelly,

Could you please point me to a sound clip of this exaust modification?

Does this make the exaust extremely loud? How is the noise level compared to stock? Do you have to modify the cats?

I am extremely interested in this.

Thanks a lot Kelly!

I do not have a sound clip or know of one. It's not extremely loud as in annoying, but much louder and better than stock. Very deep and smooth at low RPMs. At VTEC and up you get a combination of intake (K&N FIPK here) and exhaust. Now at VTEC from outside I'd say it's probably screaming a beautiful tone. (verified today in tunnel, OMG is all I can say. Very sweet!!) Downshifting gives a great racecar sound (for lack of better explanation) but it's very drivable on the street IMO if you take it easy. Best of both
worlds really. As for looks, to me it's all in the tips you use. Flowmaster's muffler is considerably smaller than stock so it almost disappears behind rear valence. No modifications to the cats. Basically just cut out the stock can. Any suggestions on how to get a clip posted and I'll try to.

Does it really matter?

It happens to work beautifully on The Car if installed properly by a qualified installer. What's your point? Don't even bother with that clip on the Flowmaster site. Sounds nothing like mine.

No offense meant. I was just stating that just because it was initially made for a Camaro doesn't mean it wont work on ours.

Hey, how's everything down in the Big H? Originally from Orange here. You know, last small town before going into LA on the ol' Casino/Riverboat trip? Was down last summer and WOW. Houston never stops growing at an alarming pace. Not to mention 610. What a madhouse.

Interesting ...... I believe Gerry has an off the shelf Flowmaster single outlet on his turbo so perhaps he can comment ..... it was not aggressively loud if I recall .....

If the C-5 muffler could be adapted to fit the NSX that would be a true dual system .... something that we were hoping Borla will intoduce over a year ago by Anytime ..... what happened to that idea John?

The Integra's sound did not seem bad after transformation ......

Kelly,

could you please post a pic of what your tips look like? Are they the dual ones on the C5 at flowmasters site?

I like the dual tips like the Tubi Style exaust the best.

Thanks Kelly.

I also prefer dual tips but just couldn't find an aftermarket set that didn't look too cheap or gawdy. Once again Will at Cantrell Concepts came through with a set of billets from Rytek. I think these happened to be an extra set he had. See pic below. The drilled ends of mine are just billet instead of polished/shiney. They turned out great I think. I can get a pic of mine installed posted here if needed, just already had this pic available.

Saturn - I can get a pic posted tomorrow. It will only be from the back though showing the tips. I can't get a good shot underneath and I'm not putting it up on jack stands to do that. A muffler's a muffler anyway. Seen one seen 'em all right?

Wife and I have plans tomorrow along w/ a drive.

If you want I can get one next time I bleed brakes or something.

CFNSX - see above.

NoClgDeg - Yes. Dual in and out. No ricey/tinny sounds w/ this one. Maybe a little popping/gurgling downshifting but it's definitely a good sound. On the deep side. Very hard to describe though. Had some kids earlier today describe it as an Indy car. I doubt that very seriously but hey, they seemed to enjoy it.

HOLLYWOOD - Can't find Will's #. Contact him at [email protected] and I'm sure He'll be happy to assist.

Hope this helps. If not, keep questions coming.

Kelly,

How close does this sound to the Gruppe M?

I have read posts that suggest that the flowmasters sound deep. However, I think the Gruppe M sounds shrill and high-pitched like the Ferrari F355. Would you say your exhaust sounds shrill and high pitched like the aformentioned systems.

Thanks a lot Kelly

I personally haven't heard a Gruppe M. Will at Cantrell Concepts informed me that it sounds like one. After some near redline runs through a tunnel today, I can assure you that it screams. Don't let "screams" scare you away thinking it might be too loud for your tastes though. It's very smooth and refined sounding. Very smooth and deep sounding driving conservative and very mean sounding if you want it to be. Shrill and high pitched is a matter of personal opinion. Compared to stock, yes. Compared to Ferrari F355 and Gruppe M, I can't answer that. Sorry. I have to get a clip up here.

KellyJoe,
Houston is good. Next time your down, you should hook up with some of the Houston guys! They are a great bunch to hangout with. As soon as I get some more mods, I want to take some pics of our cars together.
Regards
Z
ps - I ordered the Flowmaster!!!
