What did you drive before the NSX?

1986 Olds Cutlass Ciera (1st half of college)
1988 Honda Accord LXi 5MT (law school)

2007 Acura TSX Navi 5AT (2nd law job)
2009 Acura RDX Tech 5AT (current DD)

I LOVE my RDX, but my favorite was my old 88 Accord. That car is the reason I am Honda/Acura loyal and eventually led to my NSX.

98 Accord V6 = First grown up car -still rock as dd-
'02 S2000 = First Real Sports car

97 NSX = ...... first car makes me think TWICE about driving instead having sex LOLOLOL

I first started in a 1990 jeep cherokee larado. Then I went up to a 1966 dodge Charger w/ 383 engine...which my father was restoring...but he didn't let me keep it long...Then I went with a 1968 mustang 302...and then After a while I sold it and then went with a 1994 mustang gt with all the cobra goodies and saleen kit. After owning it for 5.5 years I purchased a 1999 gs400 and proceeded to mod it. I then kept it for 6 years and then I came upon the 1992 nsx and of course could not pass it up. Then I purchased a 2007 Subaru STI and would have kept it but my wife wasn't too happy with gold wheels and a wing lol.

Geez, I wonder if I can think of them all.

This list includes my wife's cars (+). I'm thoroughly embarrassed to call myself a "car guy" with some of them. In order (* we still own):

'70 Mustang Fastback
'66 Mustang 6-cyl 3-speed "pony"
'69 Mustang Fastback V8 3-speed
'71 Mustang Grande
'70 Torino
'79 Fairmont Futura V8 4-speed
'80 626+
'74 240Z
'70 Mustang Mach 1 (show car)
'85 Mustang GT (seeing a pattern here?)
'86 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon+
'91 Mustang LX 5.0
'93 Volvo 940 Turbo Wagon+
'94 Miata*
'98 ZX2
'00 Volvo V40
'00 Odyssey+
'03 Mazda 6s V6 5-speed
'91 NSX*
'05 CR-V+
'08 CR-V+*
'90 Spec Miata*
'06 Mazdaspeed 6*

Somewhere between my 80 Honda Accord (first car I purchased) and my 97 NSX (last car I purchased), I also drove this::biggrin:
SuperShuttle.jpg

1997 bmw 528i
1999 Acura tl
1999 bmw 528i
1998 bmw 540i/6
2001 bmw M5
1995 Porsche 993
2001 Porsche 996
1991 NSX

'72 bug at 16 (the clutch was 2 years older than I was...imagine how long it lasted under a 16 yr old's attempt at spirited driving)

'80 toyota corolla in Hawaii first duty station (automatic :( )

'85 Nissan Sentra in Hawaii second duty station, $250 and lasted through my time in Hawaii, a shipping to Chicago and a drive back to Florida. (also automatic :( )

'95 Accord EX 5-speed 4cyl, bought in '97 using some of my reenlistment bonus. Car is still my "practical car" with 160k miles, 12 years later still going strong.

'04 Infiniti G35 coupe 6-speed. Bought after back-to-back deployments. The NSX was not even in my radar at the time. (still considered it a $90k car in my mind and hadn't checked on the value of older ones.)

Then I saw that Car and Driver (I think?) article about the most fun for under 25k and saw an NSX on the cover. I quickly flipped to that page to read about how the earlier 90's models are getting below 25k and I knew it was time. Considering the fact that I wanted a convertible too, made it a '95 or newer search.

And that dealer in Long Beach who put the '95 up with no pics on autotrader for 25k on a Sunday, had me calling my watch relief to relieve me early to go see it, and putting a deposit down on it that same day was destiny.

Now all I own are two '95 Hondas and I couldn't be happier.

Had lots of cars and motorcycles but the only noteworthy cars before the NSX were, 88 Mustang GT(exhaust, intake and suspension mods), 94 Camaro Z28 6spd(intake mods), 98 Camaro SS 6spd all options deleted except AC and radio(suspension and exhaust mods). Oh and a 2000 CRG 125cc shifter kart. That kart blows everything else on 4 wheels away that I have ever driven including a 600hp Viper. Too bad they aren't street legal. :(
