Wheel fitments for NSX

17x7.5 +40 on 215/40/17 azenis 615k...could i add a 15mm spacer up front and still be able to full turn? maybe get away without rubbing? the azenis seem like they are skinnier then most 215's

any idea of 18x9.5 +28 in the rear , will i have any issues and some tire specs ideas
255 35 18?

This will work just fine with 255/35/18

I doubt it although it depends on the ride height - maybe if it is stock.

Just as an FYI .. many people have asked for this thread to become a sticky which I have no power to do but I have created a separate section in the Wiki in the "Modifying Your NSX" section under "Exterior Mods-Wheels". There is other good information here about both OEM and aftermarket wheel and tire considerations. This whole section is a collection of new and migrated FAQ information and could probably be better organized but at least the valuable information in this thread is now a permanent part of the Wiki. http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Wheel-Tire_Experiences

Thanks to the OP. This was very helpful.

So what about tire fitment? Will this work without rubbing?

Front wheels/tires: 17" x 8.5" +45 with 235/40/17

Rear wheels/tires: 18" x 10" +40 with 275/35/18

Billy Johnson told me to get 17/18 with those size tires, and the car would "handle like a modern supercar" but he didn't tell me wheel width and offsets. I'm planning on Nitto NT-01 track day tires, but don't know about what brand and model wheels to get.

And bolt pattern on NSX is 114.3 x 5, right?

And how would the Enkei RPF1 look in F1 Silver (the big pic) on a red NSX?

5x114.3 is correct for the NSX
235 on the front would probaly work on the track but would most likely rub like crazy on the street. My 215 rub on the ct front clamps at full lock.

If you look at my thread 91 Red/Ivory I have

17x8 +45 Silver RPF1 F 215/40/17 Falken 452

17x9.5 +38 Silver RPF1 R 275/40/17 Bridgestone RE760 Sport

Most people use 17/18 ( there is red one if you search) but im running the type R suspension that was designed around 17/17 so I went with those.

I have 235 & 275 NT01 but I havn't put them on the car or try to drive around on them. CLcaptain did it and he said he had to lift the car.

235/40/17....275/40/17 work just fine with the type R susp. There is the expected 3/4 rub in front.my wheels are the ssr type c.

As already noted, the 235 in front are only good for track - on the street it'll result in damage to the fenders after one or two driveways

My 215s already rub on my ct front clamps on the street. But when i go some where theres a track ill pick up some other wheels for my nt01s

are they really? i was thinking of these tires or advan neovas tires

cant decide

I am wondering if these configuration will fit best with NSX slightly lowered. I don't want 9 inch width for the rear. Too narrow for my taste. The wheel I'm looking at is SSR Type C.

Front:
16x7 either +30 or +42

Rear:
17x9.5 +29

or

Rear:
17x10.5 +45

I'm one of those visual guys. Its probably a lot of work, but photos (side and straight on views ) would help show what each of the wheel set-ups looks like. However, multiple owners may need to help out to get most of the more popular set-ups.

See link, post number 21, 31 & 33, also thers later in the thread.

Thanks for the info!

For the front it seems neither is optimal - +30 is aggressive and +42 is too high - maybe machine the +30 into +35?

For the rear, 17x10.5 +45 is ok, but depending on tire, the 9.5 +29 could be quite flush.

I have a set of 3PC Meisters I'd like to transfer over to my newly acquired NSX. Coming from an S2000 I ran 18x9 +43 w/245/45/18 and 18x10 +43 275/35/18 with rolled and lightly flared fenders.

From what I can gather in this thread, the rear will fit quite easily... but the fronts are hard to judge from the Wiki content and the 3 threads I've read so far.

I'm on stock suspension but plan to invest in a set of KWV3's as I absolutely loved them on my S2000 - it seems they come highly rated for cost comparision here on NSXP too.

Am I right in thinking a 9 +43 with a 245 is going to result in munched fenders?

If I were to continue to run the 9 +43 what would the recommended tyre size be? A 215/40/18? If so, thats going to look silly (I hate excessive stretch) against the rears that are running next to no stretch with a 10" 275/35.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA.

Any way to sticky this???

Great info. I hope to get these wheels sometimes in the future. My money has been spent on fixing the NSX after one year storage.

Unfortunately you'll need a 215/35/18 tire in front, that'll be insanely stretched ( I do not even know if it'll go on at all) you could try finding a 235/30/18 - it only came in a toyo T1-R and I do have a pair of them on 8.5 rims.

I have another question...

Will Face 2 GTC's (curved spoke GT-C's) in the front on an 18x8 +36 clear calipers? Everything I've read says no, but all this information seems to date back to 2003-5...

TIA!

Those wheels also date back to then...

Wheel master Wil! Quick one for ya, I picked up a set of Work VS-XX's and the fronts are R-disk 7.5x18"+40mm and have some significant convex in the spokes. The spokes actually stick out from the lip of the rim and have nearly an inch between the back of the spokes and the caliper. I was thinking about getting A-disk 8x18"+38mm to fix that issue and was wondering if you had any experience with A-disks or VS-XX's... any insight will help! Will these clear the caliper?

I'm going to try and reverse the face on my BBS LMs 18x9 +35 just to see what it'll look like. I believe it'll put my rear at a +21. Pics to follow.

**edit** not possible with 265s unless you don't mind a cracked fender

Can we please get this stickied already????

Every other day someone posts a "please help me, lost newbie" question about this stuff and someone answers them directing them to begin with this thread.
