Ok I'll start...

When I was a kid it all started with Magnum PI and his 308. Then Miami Vice got Huge, and I was a Daytona fan until Sonny got his white TR. But the car that blew me over when I first saw it in airbrush on the cover of a Trapper Keeper Folder was the Lamborghini Countach. I drew that thing day in and day out while at school. I had the arguments on the playground about how to SAY the name, and which car was the fastest, etc etc.

I didn't get to see one until we went to Berlin. Just before crossing checkpoint Charlie to go to the East Side, something in the corner of my eye in bright Red caught my attention. It was a Countach!!! I almost got flattened by a Double decker when I leapt across the road to get close to it. The Bus missed but my Stepmother's backhand didn't. She just about flattened my head since the bus hadn't, for just jumping out in traffic after a car that was parked and wasn't even moving.

Anyway, I finally got to see a Countach...and everytime since then IF I'm lucky enough to see one I still get goosebumps. Of course there are other dream cars that I get all crazy over and alot of them I like even more (like honetly the NSX)...but the Countach was THE FIRST! Along with the Testarossa, 308, and 288GTO, it was the Countach that ingnited the inferno that is my car lust.

here's a pic from that fateful day:

Let's see your nerdy kid pics of you and your dream car... ^____^

Hmmmm.

My 1st Love was definatly the Countach Lamborghini. It was RED
The Vector was another I saw in a calander it was Silver.

As for the pictures of me standing anywhere near one (non-existant) we were so poor we had no cameras.
We were lucky we had feet and not stumps to walk uphill both ways to work 40 miles one way and 80 miles home.UPHILL BOTH WAYS!! :)

No pics (no camera then :( ), but here they are:

Countach(!!)
Testarrossa
Knight Rider :D
Corvette (the 80s-early 90's kind, the newer ones do nothing for me)

KITT! That was one cool computer! Actually, I want the computer from the Enterprise in my car (with Deanna Troi's mother's voice :D ).

Cobra SC427. Always was, and always will. I saw a new one in a Ford showroom in '66 for $7200. But, I didn't have the money.. I was only 14 :)

Ferrari f50. (remember I'm a bit younger than most of you)

Then my brothers integra LS wowed me, back before I could drive a stick, heh. I thought it was soooooo fast.

Then I heard about NSX's...honda powered, handle like nothing else, made of aluminium, I was hooked.

Now I drive an integra GS-R, so my brothers' ls no longer impresses me. But the nsx is still held in high regard.
The other day I got to visit the honda headquarters in torrence. Looked at two NSX's there, one blue and one yellow. I had forgotten how good the blue looks. So deep, simply stunning. On a tangent, I saw a few TSX's there too, with 4 digit lisence plates. Later on in tehe week, I encounted two of them (red and silver) on the i5 northbound. Quite quick little cars :)

Testarossa. Thought it was God's give to automobiles. Funny thing is that I don't particularly care for it much these days.

This tread kinda reminds me of the tagline for the current batch of Inifinity G35 Coupe ads. The tagline is something like "When will it happen for you," or something akin to it.

Regards.

This was mine.. I never had any interest in driving until Alexandra and I crossed paths. 1974 XJ12L RHD, less then 39k original miles, 9th owner, utterly and positively mint thanks to very caring owners. 4 carb'ed torque monster (gearing) that got 12 in the city and 20 on the highway. I don't own Alexandra any longer, but I'm going to repurchase her. Without a doubt.

Don't laugh... this is kinda personal... but...

i was never interested in cars, but somehow i obtained a brochure of the 'new' 1992 Honda Prelude. I liked it more than a ferrari.

Here's the closest picture i can find:
<IMG SRC="http://www.fidelisav.com/prelude/pics/j4gen1.jpg">

Of course when i first saw photos of the NSX a couple of years later, it was love at first sight. It looked like the Prelude only... BETTER!

Never looked back. :D

yes...I have to admit KITT did wonders for me too...but then Don't forget Street Hawk for bikes that ruled...that was as close as I got to Crotch Rocket fandom. :D

Let's see if I can find those old pictures of me and KITT, and me and the A-Team Van...hey I even think there's one of the Magnum 308!!!

To be honest...I was a little too young to care about the Aston Martin at THAT time...but times change and I'd LOVE to drive one these days. For me...more a product of the 80's...this Bond car was THE one:

lotus001.jpg

and the other coolest Bond car that I liked when I was young:
toyota001.jpg

but I digress...let's not turn this into a Bond Car thread... :D

Countach was the 80's King...TR was close behind...with the 288, F40, and P-car 959 were all on par with the TR...

yeah I was a kid, what did I know? But then again... I'm still trying to grow up.

Let me see, as a kid KITT was definitely cool. I also loved the James Bond Lotus Esprit / sub, the DeLorean (saw one at a car show years before it appears in Back to the Future...after the film I wanted one even more). And I got a kick out of the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard.

But the car that really did it for me was a convertible Ferrari Testarossa (especially in red).

I don't think I have any pics of me with any of these cars...but I do have one I can scan of me when I was 14 sitting in my dad's friend's Porsche.

A little known fact.
The reason why Fred Flintstone only had three toes is he lost two from starting and stopping his car.

I always wanted the knight rider car too. But, my Dad is a Ford guy so I always hoped some day I would be able to own a mustang GT like this one. I still have yet to buy a mustang. It's doubtful I ever will.

The first time I fell in love with a car was during the C4 Corvette era. I was probably still in elementary school and saw a gorgeous 93 (approx) pass by. It was a bright yellow convertible with a custom exhaust. The look and the sound had me salivating. Now a dozen years later, I realized that dream having been through three Vettes until I finally moved on to an NSX. To this day I still have a soft spot for the old checkered flags.

I think I'm a bit older than most of you judging by some of the cars you have posted pics of. Here's this old dudes picks:
Cobra06.jpg
0f105637.jpg

...and about any other muscle car of the time.

When I was a kid in the early 90's, I always dreamed of the italian exotics. Lamborghini, Ferrari were the names.

Funny how I didn't take eye to the NSX until the late 90's and now I just have to have one. ;)

cuda was the musclecar i wanted(if i couldnt have the general lee)

never wanted KITT--my buddy had an 81 firebird and i was so envious.

definately the countach for 'never thought id have it but wouldnt it be nice' car.

I was so poor that i had to go 10 miles uphill to school both ways--crawling---because momma didnt want us to wear out our shoes.;)

actually, we were well off by our community's standard. Second poorest county in Illinois. I knew families without running water--had to bathe in the crick. Lot of size 7 kids wearing old size 12 shoes. Designer clothes came from sears. For people that dont know, rural poverty is just as poor or poorer than urban poverty. just without the govment housing.
