Where are all the Production deliveries ??

Bosscobra, I do not think your being very respectful right now. This is used for discussion and Bricks and Bio has provided the community with more information than I or anyone else could find anywhere else. So if you have some quarrels with the new Nsx like I sure do, try to be diplomatic about it and not take anger on other members please.

I don't have any quarrels with the NSX. I'm not angry with anyone. I have an opinion and I shared it, very respectively, I might add.

Just be cool is all I am saying. B&B gives good info here, even if it isn't the answers your looking for.

Agreed. I've been a member here for a very long time. It's fine to disagree, but your responses came across a bit childish towards the messenger.

What I heard recently is that if your car started with a base engine cover, Acura would not allow a CF replacement.

The idea was to avoid dealerships goosing up the prices of base cars.

If I understand the situation correctly, if your broke your CF engine cover, you could only replace it with a CF one.

Acura reviews parts orders for these cars, which are supposed to include VIN #, and can veto orders they see as fishy

Right now, pretty much every part for the car is "restricted" which means yes a VIN is required and the order is subject to approval by AHM. And also right now that parts are in such short supply, they can't spare any for service parts. So I have no idea if you'd be able to add a FIF to a car just for the hell of it. If something like the CF spoiler got damaged on the lot or in transport, I'm sure if you submitted a critical back order and made a few phone calls, they'd cut one loose in order to get that car sold and on the road. But just for adding it on because you want it now but didn't order the car that way? They probably won't be in a position to have those parts for at least a year.

Not all the cars hit Cars.com or Autotrader so we only get a subset of the cars built

Weekly update update

the 2 to 3 month heads up regarding delivery was soft to start and let's leave it there

shipping efficiency has improved

the paint issue our member in Canada has experienced is known to the U.S. Specialists

my car entered production with delivery expected on or by the first week of October

the meaning of the assigned term in the production process, that comes after on order is still fuzzy

Of course

normal human behavior is to fade out of these forums after delivery and the reason to Beetch has been removed

engine hatch #00148 just got delivered last week to Camco Acura in Ottawa Canada. went down for a look and OMG so much more impressive and muscular looking in person. theirs is the expensive Candy red with some nice carbon bits and black Alcantara interior- a virtual knock off of the poster'd one from earlier this year. When I was speaking with the sales guys they were originally hoping the cars would be priced in the 150-165 Canadian range as it would be in that R8, Porsche C4s sweet spot but the base MSRP in Canada comes in at 189K NI the forced brake option, with a few items and the paint the car had and MSRP sticker at 225K Canadian, still a good price point if you consider the exchange rate.. I didn't have the gumption to bother asking about any premium markup... I'll just have to wait for a few years till they hit the gently used market...

Are you saying those who stick around here are not normal?
But yeah, we are not normal here...

My understanding of human behavior is to find an outlet when we feel we have been wronged.

I use my info junkyard skill set to offset my frustration on the crap job being done by Acura toward serving us.

Once I have the car to sit in, I will be smiling more and grumping less and that will lead to less internet research on my part.

I should also be closing on another building soon and will need to get that sorted out.

I generally think of myself a s positive minded person and it suks to see all the grouse filled posts I have been doing related to the facts I have pulled up during this adventure.

I just hope you stick around and give us the real deal reviews of your new Nsx. I am pulling for ya and I hope you receive it very soon!

Thank you sir

It looks like it is a month or less to delivery and that is better than my recent expectations have been.

I will be sure to provide lots on ownership perspective and pics of the car near cool Chicago sites.

I also plan to drive up to the multiple Chicagoland dealers who hosed me along the way to flip them the bird.

LOL. It will feel great when you do that.

I did it when I bought my 1995 3000GT Spyder VR4 brand new. I was turned away by a dealer here in Florida because I was young and they didn't think that could afford the car. I ended up getting one out of state and brought it to the dealer who wouldn't even let me open the door to one in their showroom. The sales manager was pissed I didn't buy his and my response was "You shouldn't judge someone because of their age. You fucked up." I had just finished my residency program and wanted to buy my first new car.

I had just finished my residency program and wanted to buy my first new car.

I remember when I was living in Manhattan (NYC) and the Rolls Royce dealership on the east side had a customer walk in looking somewhat less than affluent (aka jeans and a little less than polished) and no salesperson came over to him but for one since they thought this was someone not able to purchase a Rolls. It turned out to be artist Claes Oldenburg and he ended up buying two from the one salesperson who gave him the time of day.

I had a somewhat similar experience when for whatever reason I received a hand delivered personal invitation from the President of Rolls Royce asking me to test drive a new Corniche Convertible. If I did test drive it I would received a custom made Brioni sports jacket for free with no obligation to purchase the car. The jacket would be made through Neiman Marcus and they would fly someone in from Italy to fit me and pick out the materials, etc.

It just so happened that I had my suits made at that NM at that time so I brought the letter in to them to ask it if was real. They called in the store manager to meet me since they had heard of that being done for a select few people and had not met anyone with that "golden ticket". They confirmed it was real so I made an appointment with the Rolls Royce dealer in Manhattan.

I arrived wearing my jeans, mets shirt, Acura baseball cap and my Simpson driving shoes. They didn't believe I was the one with the appointment until I showed my letter and photo ID. I then drove the salesman all around manhattan for the next hour in a Corniche Convertible, brought it back and told him it was uncomfortable (I was actually too tall with the ragtop up), got my ticket punched by the GM of the dealership and made an appointment with my personal Brioni tailor.

8 weeks later I had a custom made Brioni sports jacket with a retail price of $3800 (the buttons I picked out added to the price..........).

And nobody ever was able to tell me how I got on "the list" for this since it was meant for high profile celebrities and athletes...........
