How to keep a black hat from turing orange?

The problem with the hats deteriorating in the Sun is the probably label inside the hat. Where are they made??? Who knows what the material is died with?

Solution: get a coupe!

I was thinking toupe......

Try 303 Aerospace Protectant...for the UV rays

Sorry about getting so off-topic...it's just I have spent soooooo much time in weathering analysis in my previous R&D experience that I went into geek mode

Good to see pics of hat for comparison. You will find man made polymer fibers on clothing labels from time to time. Acrylic does degrade in the sun over time. It yellows. Dyes can fade as well. Vega$ brings up a good point about chemical rxns also...especially since the fading seems 'blotchy'.

Sell off the faded ones as your own artistic brand

You're getting defective products - show the clothier the pics and demand a box of spares to keep various ones squirred away like Bill and his canes...

Cheers!
