Digging this thread up since the speed sensor for '93 - '05 can be found on Amazon for $11.99 rather than $105 from Honda. Reviews state the sensor works on various Hondas so I'll post back here when I have one installed on my '92 5MT. BTW, not affiliated with the seller just saving some $$$...

Yes, that sounds like the snap-ring has shattered. Open the inspection port on the tranny (driver's side, half-inch breaker bar/ratchet will open it) and you'll find pieces of the snap-ring sitting there. Simple to do and well worth it. I had mine break and I replaced the tranny housing...

No difference since the rim size gets larger but the rubber profile gets smaller. Overall, no wheel diameter change so there are no dimension differences. Wish I could get my hands on the newer rims as well. :D
