Suspension tweaks for the track

I have a completely stock '91. I don't really have much of an issue on the street, but it definitely likes to understeer on initial turn-in when I autocross it, or on the track. The only time I've really felt comfortable with corner turn-in on the track is hauling the car down from ~75MPH to...

    Recent suspension recommendations

So I ended up going with just some Bilstine shocks for right now. They don't seem to have affected the ride on the street very much, and I think they might have helped my understeer. I've had them on the track and understeer was pretty controllable via throttle. I'll probably get a better feel...

    The Mythical $25k NSX.

I bought my 91 2 years ago from a friend for $25k. Granted, he was somewhat pressed to sell it since he was moving to NZ. Also, I had to replace the trans due to snap ring failure in less than 10k miles, which cost me about $10k.

    Recent suspension recommendations

First, sorry if this isn't the right forum... I didn't see anything dedicated to suspension/handling. I've read through the FAQ, but it seems kind of out of date (most of the comments are from 1998). My 91 has 130k miles, and AFAIK the suspension is all what came on the car. I'm leaning towards...

    engine room cooling fan question

Any idea what 194F equates to on the coolant guage? I've seen mine run before but very rarely. I'm somewhat concerned because there's sometimes a faint burning rubber smell when I stop.

New contact info for Basch Acura Service

    They've got a new phone number; 480-968-8010. Can someone update http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Reference/companydirectory.htm ?

    Crunch

    Yeah, I didn't actually hear a crunch.

    Crunch

Looks like the snap ring on 3156 just failed. So... Other than the clunch (which only has about 10k miles on it) and any other worn stuff in the trans, is there anything else I should be looking at replacing? I'm going to try and see if my dealer will cut me a break on this, but I suspect I'll...

Austin NSX Meet - Sunday, November 6, 2005

By the way, the map is a bit off. D&B is just off of the Mopac frontage road, right before it curves to the west/northwest.

To timing belt or not to timing belt...

Damn, I've never heard of a timing chain breaking. How many miles? That's why my `78 Cougar now has a double-roller. Next time I rebuild it I might well just put a gear set on it.

To timing belt or not to timing belt...

Yeah... what I'm most interested in what it looks like in cases like mine... low milage but still and old belt. Good news is this means I should be able to make it to NSXPO. :>

To timing belt or not to timing belt...

I finally went through the records on my '91, and it turns out that the timing belt was replaced an 60,000 miles in 1998. I just talked to the dealer that did the recent 90k service, and he said that there wasn't really a time constraint on the timing belt, it was more about milage. He also said...

To NSXPO or not to NSXPO

I just got a '91 2 weeks ago. I'd love to go to NSXPO this year, but the problem is the car's 14 years old, almost at 90k, and AFAIK has never had the timing belt replaced. Being a V8 kinda guy, the whole timing belt thing kinda freaks me out, and I'm paranoid that I'm taking a big risk driving...

Austin Hill Country Drive - Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005

Can someone call me (569-9461) around 1PM and let me know where y'all are? I'd love to join in the fun, but I'm in NYC right now and won't be back until then.

Spokes event: San Antonio, Sept. 25

Anyone interested in doing an autocross? I discovered one of my rockers is ticking this morning, so I might not be able to make it, but from what I understand the events are a blast.
