This opinion was based on my BBSC car with the 4.55 and short gears.
The comments about Comptech and Gruppe M were that boost comes on (and hence fun factor) at lower rpms. This is a function of the screw-type design vs the centifugal Paxton in the BBSC. This is not an issue with my 4.55 as I...
As is clear from the graphs, the "real" power comes in after 6,000 rpm. With my 4.55 r+p this is not such a concern; however, it comes on so fast that the rpm fly to redline very, very quickly. The real fun here is between 6500 and 8000. The problem is you have to shift just as its getting fun.
There use to be a write-up in the FAQs on removing the "Acura" logo. It covered the whole process.
The hard part is obviously releasing the glue holding the red lens to its housing.
Place the whole unit in a pot filled with water just enough to cover the bottom and sides. Do not place the...
Dali Chip to replace stock ECU chip configured for I/H/E. $190
Chip removed due to install of BBSC
RM springs $175
Lowers car 1-1.25"
I installed Tein coil-overs; springs have about 8K miles
There is a very simple solution. The silly parts company JC Whitney (do they still exist?) sold a rubber molding with an adhesive backing. It is a molding similar to what is on the cover or around doors. You cut it to length and stick it on along the margin where the engine bay meets the rear. I...
I would think hard about this. First, I have heard much more negative commentary about light-weight flywheels. True the revs come up fast, but the idle tends to be more quirky. Check the FAQs.
The flywheel needs to matched to the clutch. Rebuilt cluths come with a refinished flywheel. I would...
I damaged mine the same way some years back. Unfortunately, replacing the CV boot means removing the axle.
I did repair mine on the car with some difficulty. I used many thin layers of self-vulcanizing liquid rubber. Be patient and apply many layers to build it up.
If you drive it too soon...
1. It is $6500 not $8000
2. A 9 psi unit is not yet available
3. I was not lecturing; unless one sentence is a lecture in your world. I agree that the data is very important; however, to date a great deal of the chatter has not been particularly informative or helpful.
4. Take a...
I just finished the NSX stereo upgrade. All but one of my cheap Sh*t Bose amps had gone south. I refused to put more money into this trash. The "subwoofer" is the same 4" paper garbage speaker as in the doors.
Unfortunately, there is no way to do a system cheap if you need someone to do the...
No contest.
I few years ago I installed RM headers and exhaust. While the new great exhaust note gave a sense of performance, a really did not appreciate a significant performance change.
I just had short gears and 4.55 installed.
WOW
This was a radical change. The car is spirited and pulling...
I had the Basch SC installed June 5. I posted my initial impressions on the original thread.
Unfortunately, I have not run the car hard. It also received a new clutch which needs a 500 mile stop&go break in. I also need the new fuel box upgrade. My initial limited impression is it is a...
Please let me clarify that the above statement is mine and not from Mark B. I trust that he will not settle for "good enough." Given the finite market for an NSX supercharger I made the cost conclusion.
The take home point is that there are many ways to skin a cat (sorry SPCA) and Mark will...
