    ...or at least that's where it seems to be coming from. Haven't driven it in a few days and just went to back it out of the garage to change the oil - started it up and the racket that I've always heard for the first couple of seconds after starting the car, now doesn't go away. Worn timing...

    Now I'm quoting myself, good grief. Anyone know if the 'other' SoS NSX-R type knob (the non titanium one) has the 6-speed pattern on it? It doesn't say so, but ya never know.

    I just noticed a 2nd NSX-R type knob on the SOS site. Has that always been there? It's the TAITEC NSX-R knob which is almost the same as the 'other' knob, except that it doesn't have the 6-speed pattern on it. It also doesn't look quite as well finished - looks like they stopped the polishing...

    Good idea to cover it with something. Heat is surely an issue - I can't count how many times I've branded myself on the DOHC emblem on the console.

    I do it myself. At the dealer I can never be positive that they put in the oil (synthetic) that I ask for. But, it is a pain in the butt, esp if you put the car up on jack stands all the way around and too much work if you don't have a quick floor jack. Next time I will try one of the short...
