I just found these: http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&&item=150426822300

I ordered two :D

I ordered one. We'll see if it is any real use or not. It could be fun. I'm not sure about track use but you certainly could get some interesting angles that way.

I guess I'm just a little confused. Are we talking about the camera that comes up on the page you posted, the remote key-fob mini spy camera? If so, how would you mount it for track use? Duct tape it to the dash? Does it have a microphone? Is the quality worthy of your hard-earned track effort?

Since it's posted in the track section, I'm assuming that your intention is for use as a track camera. I know it's cheap, but surely there are better cameras for track purposes. :confused:

Probably, but how many of those would you tape to your bumper and not care if you lost?

Mine came today. Now I just need to decipher the horribly translated instructions to figure out how to operate it. :biggrin:

Yeah I figured it out just now. Mine was locked up or something and I had to reset it (there's a tiny pinhole with a reset button inside). It works fine now.
Do you know how to make the timestamp on the video go away?

integration...

Is anyone gonna "hardwire" one of these into, let's say their front-bumper valance, connected to their head-unit/nav' ala rear-camera input (or A/V?), so it can display live/real-time video (as opposed to recorded video) & power/charge itself (it has an integrated lithium ion battery)... is such even possible?

Reference: AVIC F500BT {Back-Up Camera Input - Rear-View Camera Mode}

Probably not without some serious work. It probably wouldn't be worth it since you could just buy a rearview camera with no hassle and probably less expense. It is tempting to order another one just to take apart though.

I did tape it to my front bumper just now to test it out. It was aimed too low so all you could see what road but the quality isn't too bad.

Here's some other details..
It records in AVI format, 720x480,
Frame Rate: 30.99 ??
Audio : 22050 Hz - 16 bit - Mono

One problem I did have is that when I went over a speed bump the video tweaked out, so it seems that the encoder or whatever in this thing can't handle crazy amounts of motion. That might make it problematic on a track or if you're going fast.

A short movie at 9PM, with Velcro Tape
